Yes, you can. But only for games that are still online: Phantasy Star Online, 4x4 Evolution, Maximum Pool, Starlancer, Quake III, Planet Ring, Sega Swirl.

The BBA can only play PSO, Toy Racer and a homebrew port of Doom. Quake III as well maybe? But yeah you can play more with dialup.

You will need to find a dialup ISP access number. There are free ones out there, though long distance charges apply assuming your phone plan doesn't have unlimited long distance.

EDIT: And like you, my phone line is through my cable modem. This does work. It is still landline dialup.

blu, I'll take some pics when I have a sec.

Oh sweet, that's awesome. Yeah, I do have unlimited long distance. Awesome sauce. Totally gonna check that out when I get home.

If you do, we have at least four people now. I'd like to get a full lobby of some PSO and crank it up. That or some Quake III Arena. Could be some good times.

I don't have Quake III, but I have PSO (not sure if it's v1 or v2, though). Does Unreal Tournament work online?

Aww, damn. Guess I'll have to pick up a copy of Quake III when I get some cash.

ElkinFencer10 - look for a PM about free dial-up services.

I also have a cable phone with free longdistance. I never use it... it's not even hooked up - well now it is to my DC! I have a 50ft phone line running from my cable modem to my basement just for my DC. It's sweet.

are you playing now, SB? I can jump on. I usually go to Vega (Block 1) just cuz that's where the DCT forum guys tend to hang out when they're on, so I know that there's a better chance of finding players there.

Plus they are doing the special event right now.

Also what's your name on there?
