Halo 1 was the only one I ever cared for and it was the Windows version I picked up years later after it got hot so I had the patches that fixed up the bad performance MS left in it probably to help steer people towards their console. That new Halo came and went fast, but most the FPS games do when they're oudated a year later for another $60 coat of paint like the yearly COD re-hash. If the online people don't get behind it in mass, it vanishes quickly.

And yes I meant The Old Blood and The New Order as well, have both on disc. WW2 shooters really have been a thing for me going back a good 15 years roughly and those like them that relied on decent story telling, good set pieces, and having a strong and drawn out single player game behind it. It's not like now where 95% of the FPS games are just shit thrown together with a few hours of play just to peddle a multiplayer game with a crap load of DLC to sell for more. This has to be in the general public at least a very unpopular gaming opinion bluntly saying fuck multiplayer focused FPS games.

I hear DOOM4 is going back to the 1/2 roots with a meaty well done frantic single player game and it will have online too with the free for all stuff or the death match/team stuff the old dial up titles had. I could totally dig that after how DOOM 3 was kind of meh.

Doom 3 is alright if you go into expecting a survival horror game instead of Doom.

The hell levels were pretty cool anyway.

Looks like I'll be buying a copy of New Order soon.

How's the other Wolfenstein on 360 though?

The one just titled Wolfenstein? It's pretty average.

An understatement, it's freaking garbage! Gets a special award for being the one FPS that actually made me nauseous, because of this weird blue tint visual effect you had to use constantly throughout the game. I couldn't stomach much so I didn't even finish it. Just look up videos, it looks so bad lol.

I hear Return is good and want to check that one out. Never cared for the first Wolfenstein though. So I didn't really go into The New Order being a fan or anything, but it was awesome.

Singularity is a sleeper hit if you guys never played that one. It took a lot of elements from FEAR, Half-Life 2, etc, but perfected everything and was damn good.

That wasn't my problem with it, it's the overly played out pop scares every 15seconds you walk somewhere as they'll teleport in right behind you where you just cleared it out, or a wall beside you. IT gets old, then aggravating, then I shut it off for months or years. :) I don't hate it, but I get fed up with that aspect of the game.

I didn't find it awful, just exceptionally mediocre. I did end up selling it and wouldn't recommend it.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is pretty good. I haven't played it since it came out though so I'm not sure how it has aged.

Wolfenstein 3D was one of my childhood favorites but yeah, New Order is its own thing entirely. The only thing that carries over from the original is the hero's incredibly square jaw. And something else I don't want to spoil.

I was spoiled with playing Doom, roller ball mouse and all (oh hell yeah!...) in 1993 or 1994... so I just could never go back to Wolfenstein after that haha. Noah's Ark 3D SNES was terrible too, but a hilarious novelty.

Noah is fun for stupid reasons, and it has a map thankfully too. I've got a test build of that for a possible android conversion around here somewhere just using an emulator since it's a test if I haven't erased that email. Something stupid is fun, much like rubber monster and bruce lee knockoff films.
