Dreamcast emulation
Dreamcast emulation
I just payed this guy ten bucks to make me dream Snes and Aes4all discs for my dreamcast but they both run crazy slow and choppy on my dreamcast, is this problem with my system or the emulators?
Re: Dreamcast emulation
I'm sorry that you are out $10 because those are readily available online and yeah both run pretty choppy depending on the game being played. NesterDC seems like the only one that plays really good.PGchris wrote:I just payed this guy ten bucks to make me dream Snes and Aes4all discs for my dreamcast but they both run crazy slow and choppy on my dreamcast, is this problem with my system or the emulators?

Yea I'm a dummy, the truth is unlike most gamers I am a computer illiterate mac user and jumped at the chance to have someone just do it for me. Looks like a bad call, eh you win some you lose some.Jayson wrote:I'm sorry that you are out $10 because those are readily available online and yeah both run pretty choppy depending on the game being played. Re: Dreamcast emulation
I too an a Mac user, and making emu disc for DC on OS X can be quite daunting, so I disagree- You're not a dummy.

Case in point. DC sucks for emulation unless it's NES.

Re: Dreamcast emulation
There are versions floating around that are tweaked for better performance. I get decent performance for these systems on dreamcast...
SMS
Gamegear
NES
SNES
AES and Neogeo CD
Scummvm
Genesis
MAME
So, I don't know how much it sucks...most of those have a good variety of very playable games.

Re: Dreamcast emulation
I'd do near anything to get some of my MAME shmups to work on my DC. I got all that MAME4ALL bologna, but of course couldn't get my later shmups to work.
DC is best spent playing DC games, or Nester.

Re: Dreamcast emulation
This is exactly what I would have said. I was really disappointed when I learned that the Dreamcast couldn't run SNES at full speed. So disappointed, in fact, that I got myself an Xbox and had it softmodded. Xbox is better in just about every aspect when it comes to emulation, in my opinion.HeavyMetalMe wrote:DC is best spent playing DC games, or Nester.
@ PGchris: You do know that you can burn DC games onto CD-Rs and play them on your DC, right?
