God, I'd have bought that game for the comedic value alone.

Hey remember this?:

Fire Emblem Fates. Those of you who were looking forward to seeing their waifus in their underwear, while stroking them as they respond suggestively can forget it. Nintendo of America has cut all that out of the USA version. Yep.

Further propagation of the Nintendo double standard. In Japan, Nintendo will publish games with ecchi factors. But USA Nintendo still pretends to be squeaky clean by censoring up our releases. Most recently it was with Xenoblade Chronicles X and now this.

I for one am starting to get really tired of Nintendo's shit.

It's almost like there are cultural differences between what is acceptable in different societies.

This is a valid point that needs to be taken into consideration, but there are also parental control settings on the system; I'm sure it wouldn't be overly cumbersome to have those settings essentially "lock" parts of the game instead of censoring them out entirely. I mean, lots of games ask you in the beginning if you want to disable especially gory scenes; why not let you disable sexual scenes? That way weeb freaks like me can beat it to our waifus while we cry over our lonely lives, and parents can still keep their kids safe from ever learning about the birds and bees (until they show up 15 years old and pregnant like half of my students).

To be fair, your students probably figured out about the birds and the bees by spying on their parents. It seems like that kind of crowd.

I don't even want to know how my students found out. Half of what I know is because I hear them talking about it and look it up on UrbanDictionary. The shit I've learned....

On a related note, now that you have Genealogy of the Holy War on your Backloggery you need to play it. The game involves half-sibling incest as a major plot point, and the second generation lets you match make a ton of cousins together, including one pair of cousins who are genetic half-siblings (mothers are identical twins). Hell, one of the lover conversations between two members of the second generation calls out a missed case of incest in the first generation that they were going to make up for. That should make up for your missing waifu groping.

Yes. This is standard localization.

Today it's easier than ever to import games straight from Japan. Those who wish to have an original unlocalized/unedited copy have the option to do so.

Then why is Nintendo OK with this being published on their 3DS platform stateside:

Too bad the 3DS is region locked.

Because one of the two wasn't developed by Nintendo.
