Nicely done. But handy man specials sound like my cup of tea.

That's really exciting, Dave. Also want to see those pics once you are getting situated - maybe some pics before you put anything down there so we can give some suggestions? There are a lot of things to consider; of course. I like most of the decisions I made in my lower level - but there are also things i'd do over (pocket-door on the sump closet for starters; going with (6) 4' baseboard heaters instead of (3) 8's.)

I still need to post pics of my "theater". It isn't really a theater, it's just 2 loveseats, a 40" Regza LCD, and a Vizio soundbar - but we are loving it.

btw; furniture was ordered for wayfair.com and we couldn't be more pleased. Quick, safe, and FREE delivery and prices were 40% less than retail. There is a gamble - you're buying off of a stock photo, but if you can find trustworthy reviews you'll have a good idea what you're getting.

Mike, how much was your soundbar? We need one but I just don't want to pay much for one. But I also don't want to pay anything for one if it ends up sucking. Eh.

We got this one:

It's $218 today, it was $170 on Black Friday when I got it.

Super easy to hook up, it came w/I think 3 audio cable options (the soundbar actually supports 5 different options). The subwoofer is pre-connected so as long as it's within 15-20' all you need to do is plug it in and it will wirelessly sync.

The satellite speakers connect to the subwoofer and come w/20' of wire - so those can go in opposite corners of each other with plenty of room for customization.

You know me and my technology skills (IT background, etc) so i'm not sure if EVERYONE could figure it out, but you'd probably be ok.

EDIT: link was to the 38", we got the 40". The major difference is the housing is metal instead of plastic, I think that's it.

:D : But everything seems to be going smoothly so far, which means in six short months (or so) my implants will be complete. I've been waiting since I was 12 for this year to come and finally it has *crosses fingers*
If you don't mind my asking, what kind of implants?
They're titanium implants within the jaw where the two top teeth just left and right of center would be.

So, right about here:

The teeth just never formed, so I've been wearing a partial since they fell out. I also had a small bone graft since the jawbone had receded due to the lack of teeth, but that was only minimal. So, basically, there are two rods of metal wedged up in my jawbone and I have to eat soft foods for a week or so and wait while the grafted bone fuses to my existing bone, which should take a few months.

This is basically what's happening-

-except right now there's no tooth and no post to put the tooth on, just the metal rod.

The whole thing is about a year-long process, which I'm not really looking forward to, what with all the follow-up visits and all :? But the good news is, the doctor was very pleased with how easy the surgery went and he didn't have to do as much as he thought he would (thus giving us a $900 comp on the bill. Yay!)

With any luck, the whole process will be done before next Christmas, thus giving me an opportunity to sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" with enough joy to profoundly confuse passing strangers :D

My sister had a similar thing, only it was her upper canines that didn't come in. They ended up using braces to move her teeth together to get the bone to form, then moved the teeth apart and installed the implants. But for that period before the implants installed she had a retainer with a couple of fake teeth in it.

I had braces for a few months in middle school to properly position the other teeth and then had the partial (retainer) with the two fake teeth made and have been using that ever since. I conceivably could have gotten the implants right after high school, but I was going away for collage and didn't want to have to deal with the multiple back-and-forth follow-up visits while simultaneously worrying about school. I'll actually get my old partial back in a couple weeks, but before I can wear it again it has to be modified so that it doesn't rub against the new metal posts.

I had 2 implants done this past year. One, my top row of teeth on right side, 3rd from back, and the other my bottom left last molar.

They worked out fairly well so far. They are weird at first, but then you start to just think of them as another normal tooth. The only way you can tell is by when you touch one with your finger or tongue, it feels like it is a tooth that is numb.

I've never had dental implants, but I've had a LOT of caps and crowns over the course of my life. I've got EXTREMELY weak enamel, so I'll probably have full out dentures by the time I'm 60. :(
