I went to check that out on Play-Asia, and next thing I know, Moe Chronicles jumped into my basket. I have no idea how it happened, but I'm taking it as a sign.Exhuminator wrote:Gotta buy that PS4 version and bleed even more. Weebin' ain't easy.

Sounds like a good one to convert, thanks for the suggestion.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Also, if you want a true challenge, be sure to play Nectaris: Military Madness (PS1) on your PSP.
This morning I converted King's Field III: Pilot Style and King's Field: III to EBOOT format using PSX2PSP. I put them on my PSP and they seem to work. I am very excited about this. In theory I can finish Pilot Style, KF:III, and Shadow Tower all on my PSP in bed late at night. I might actually get those all finished this year with that format.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So I had an impulse to maybe jump on the new Guitar Hero or Rock Band games that came out this past fall. After reading Amazon reviews the answer seems to be don't buy either of them.
This is compounded by the fact that I have an Xbone and have to eff around with a wireless adapter to make everything work properly. Oh well. Money saved. Guess I'll just jump on my 360 for a few minutes and scratch the itch that way.

Started up Bioshock: Infinite, and it is giving me some "overzealous fascist Mormon" vibes. I like how it contrasts with Bioshock, going from No Gods and No Kings to All God and All Kings; I think they pulled a nice balancing act there, neither extreme is desirable.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm not sure whether I should be more annoyed about data caps or the fact that games have insane patch sizes these days. Basically the only things I let connect to the internet at home are my laptop and recently my Vita. Even the WiiU games I had started getting large enough patches that I decided to disconnect it from the internet.
I know the 4MB limit for patches well into the Xbox 360's life was kind of a bummer for a lot of developers but seeing the patch sizes of some games today gives me a heart attack. Even if you don't have a bandwidth limit some of these patches are over half the size of the entire game! What's up with that shit? Do you really need to upload a 10+ GB patch for some small bug fixes?
I love a lot of things about modern gaming but man some of it is just stupid. This is almost up there with needing to be connected to the internet for a single player experience.

Older. Not wiser.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The thing is that console games tend to be worse when it comes to patches because they can't apply file diffs. So if they make a minor change to some large binary file that's on the disk (such as a dll equivalent) then they need to push out the entire file as part of the patch, while a PC game can just have you download the diff and apply the diff to the files on the machine.
Additionally, if they make changes to any textures you have to redownload those, and textures tend to be the largest pieces of data for a game.
