I was going to pick that up today for $10 complete, but it said on the price sticker "no microphone", then I remembered that game came with one. I looked at the back of the case, and it looks like it's just for voice commands in multiplayer. Is it necessary to play single player? I'll grab it next month then.noiseredux wrote:I played a couple missions of Alienfront Online last night before bed. I don't think this game has left my (main) DC since Christmas.
How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?

unless they get the voice chat working when the finally get this game online again, the microphone is totally useless.
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Alien Front Online is not like Odama, where you need the stupid microphone or your game is crippled.
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
That's why I asked, for one thing. When I got Odama, I made sure I got that with the microphone in the cardboard box.marurun wrote:Alien Front Online is not like Odama, where you need the stupid microphone or your game is crippled.
So I'll be getting this game, then.

How far into the campaign are you, Noise? If I remember right, it gets really tough/practically impossible somewhere down the line, or maybe I just suck. I remember finding myself just unable to continue once I got as far as I could. It's a fun game though and it's nice to have the campaign mode, which is great, in addition to the traditional Arcade mode.
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

I wonder if I should even bother getting fatal fury motw, mvc, power stone, cap on vs snk, with my credit that I have. Every game is 30.00 except for fatal fury which is 50.00. They are worthy titles but I know you can make CD-R back ups

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
the campaign is BRUTALLY hard. I'm playing the army campaign - I always choose to be "good guys" rather than "bad guys" in games. Which is to say in AvP games I prefer to hunt Xenomorphs than be them.Reprise wrote:How far into the campaign are you, Noise? There are four "tracks" you can take, with multiple endings. In order to get to the next track, you must beat all the missions leading up to the change in the track. (Sort of hard to explain without seeing the mission select screen...) Anyway, right now I'm still trying to even beat the full 1st track - so presumably the easiest. I've got like 4 or 5 missions left but yeah, the difficulty ramps up FAST.
The mission I'm on now involves killing one giant four-legged alien in a city. Even using the heaviest armored tank, if he even sees me I'm dead.

Got 4 of my discs back today from Game Disc Repair that were scratched up enough to cause loading errors and other problems. They're all good as new! I highly recommend their service for DC games.
