Congrats on the new baby J! What a gift!

:( it is a bit depressing to realize that my own mother doesn't want to see me and my daughter for her first Christmas. Some people can behave so strangely and never listen to reason and rationality. It is a shame.

Do they live far away or something? That's pretty odd.

It is a really long story. After my father died 2 years ago, our relationship collapsed under some very difficult situations. We only recently have been trying to mend our relationship and it isn't working. She doesn't want to see us because she thinks my wife's family views her as a monster(which they don't) and that my daughter doesn't need her in her life so why should she be in it?

She is upset that my wife and I do not want a relationship with my oldest brother, because of his behavior, perception in life and numerous careless decisions, some of which every person would consider unforgivable.

I feel you on this, trust me. Best of luck with it, hopefully you can focus on your daughter and keep it off your mind for the most part.

I feel for you, Bogus.

Family is oftentimes a great blessing. But other times it can devolve into a confusing headache that's both physically and emotionally painful.

I wish you the best in trying to work through it, especially at this time of year.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. We are home, and thankful we were able to get 24 hour discharge. Since both were healthy, we would much rather be comfortable at home.

I never really slept much, a couple hours since Sunday night. I am at that beyond tired point, and on a 5th or 6th wave at this point lol.

My almost 3 year old daughter isnt too keen on this, and seems to resent her mama's attention on the new one, but hopefully she will get acclimated here soon.

It's like when you bring a new cat home. The existing one will hiss at the newcomer but after a bit of time they'll acclimate to each other.
