Reminds me of how Marvel was really strict with the alternate costumes in MvC3 because apparently they were really upset with how MvC2 allowed you to have characters like Juggernaut, Cable and Storm wearing pink.
Which means the God of War devs take their characters less seriously than Marvel does. Amazing.

Can't say I'm surprised by that.the7k wrote:Reminds me of how Marvel was really strict with the alternate costumes in MvC3 because apparently they were really upset with how MvC2 allowed you to have characters like Juggernaut, Cable and Storm wearing pink.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Night Dive is developing a full remake of the original System Shock, going well beyond the basic rerelease that launched a couple months ago. Night Dive has acquired the full rights to the franchise, and Kick says he’s been working with Robert Waters, the game's original concept artist, to reimagine his designs from the early 1990s.
We may even see a System Shock 3 someday, though Night Dive would need a larger publisher to take on the task. Kuperman says the company is "having some conversations" on this front.

Have to reign in my excitement on this though. A bad remake would be heartbreaking.
It still makes me giddy though.

So I've never played a Systemshock game but I have played Bioshock.
Is it true that the latter is a spiritual successor to the former?

This is an actual cheat code for the Famicom Disk System game Aspic, as found on GameFAQs:
I attempted this. It works.See the Ending
At the Start/Continue screen, press and hold A, B, Select & Start on controller 1 and start shouting on the Famicom's controller 2 microphone. Keep holding and shouting while the game loads, instead of starting the game, you'll be taken to the ending.

Yes. Ken Levine was also key staff on Thief The Dark Project.casterofdreams wrote:So I've never played a Systemshock game but I have played Bioshock.

The similarities are obvious if you check out System Shock 2 sometime.

Spiritual successor... yeah. But a bit dumbed down and a lot less ambitious. I remember reading interviews with Ken Levine where he lamented how the publisher forced them to make the game more accessible to the masses then what he'd originally intended.casterofdreams wrote:Is it true that the latter is a spiritual successor to the former?
Both System Shock and System Shock 2 are amazing games and deserve to be played by every gamer.
They both use the Dark engine. Ken Levine had a lot more control of System Shock 2 than he did with Thief: The Dark Project though. There were a lot of key people in Thief's development and it's hard to critically factor who the most important influence was. Here's a great write up on it's creation: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/1 ... php?page=1Xeogred wrote:Yes. Fun fact: Thief: The Dark Project is Exhuminator's all time favorite game ever.
