Fireback

Straight out of the Philippines in an attempt to look like Vietnam comes the most anticipated First Blood knock-off of 1983 that nobody knew about: Fireback! Richard Harrison, possibly the greatest of the 1980s white dude movie ninjas, is a weapons expert who gets captured along with his latest super weapon by the Vietnamese military. When he finally gets released, he discovers his wife has been kidnapped, and he's being framed for crimes that he didn't commit. How does he resolve this situation? Through VIOLENCE!

Slowly he works his way through the criminal underworld of fake blind people, Asian actors with golden hands, and bad strippers until he finds his wife dead in a sewer, all thanks to a local mob boss. So now the mob and the local cops are after him, and they're recruiting a posse of local civilians to help out, because civilians are exactly the kind of thing you need to throw at a raging vet in the midst of a PTSD-fueled murder fest. But they best look out, because Richard Harrison can build a super weapon out of spare parts found in his car!

Oh no, the mob has a ninja! But this is Richard Harrison, super ninja! So much murder because a mobster wanted to bone another guy's wife! But nobody can handle Richard Harrison and his NINJA MUSTACHE!

Soon to open fire on your screen!

I have two questions.

1. Does he actually use the gun in the movie poster in the film?
2. Wtf is that gun?

1. Yes, he uses it at the start of the movie when he is captured.
2. It is an assault rifle/grenade launcher/bazooka/missile launcher made of PVC and poorly spray painted to appear camouflaged.

THE PUMAMAN

The budget was so low for this movie that they couldn't afford the "-" to make the title TH PUMA-MAN. And here is your superhero, the pumaman:

Our K-Mart khaki clad hero is given a magic medallion from a shaman that looks like The Rock with down syndrome. That isn't meant to be a joke or a shot at people with down syndrome, it's the best way I can describe the guy.

It's a B-movie with the tired plot of average Joe gets super powers, but if you crave terrible movies, check it out. It is lol hilarious.

Also check out the MST3K treatment of this, it's a fan favorite.

generic title, but a hidden gem if you ask me. I've seen it a couple times now. Basically these horror fans are trying to track down info on an 80's slasher that was so controversial it was banned and all known prints destroyed. Crazy meta stuff happens as they try to find the film. Totally worth seeing.

I'm very surprised that the advertising for this film is basically:

"The Visit

by

M. Night Shyamalan "

He hasn't done anything that hasn't been terrible in nearly thirty years. In fact if I were marketing a new thriller, I'd tag it with "Not written nor directed by M. Night Shyamalan".
