is it just me, or did the second half of the first season just completely lose its shit. it can't just be me. it went from an action drama to soft porn overnight.
Second half of SAO went in an...odd place, to be honest. I just skipped the second half, after watching 2 or 3 episodes of it, since I knew the general outline. You don't really NEED the second half of Season 1 to get Season 2 anyways.

Sad thing is Season 2 does the same thing first arc is decent second arc is pretty meh though.

Even though I watch every new episode as it airs I kind of feel like the show would have been better off as a whole if it had just ended after the first 13 episodes.

Also caught One Punch Man and checked out Gakkou Gurashi!.

One Punch Man is pretty straight forward action with very little story. Basically if you like over the top battles with cheesy super heroes and ridiculous monsters this show is for you. Animation is pretty solid as are the action sequences things do get pretty hokey at times though.

Gakkou Gurashi! can't really say anything without spoiling it, but pretty much it has got a pretty twisted plot which is completely unexpected unless you read the summary before going into episode 1.

Agree with the 14 episode statement. As soon as
they left SAO
, the show should've ended right there.

Second Season isn't as bad, IMO. I hated the Excalibur arc a lot, but Mother's Rosario (Episodes 18-24) look to be the best arc in the series, IMO (haven't finished it yet, because I'm watching the dub on Toonami, but so far, it looks great).

Funny thing is; I like SAO, but it's quite literally one of the most overrated series I've seen, tbh. I only really stick with it, because it, along with RoosterTeeth's RWBY (despite not being an Anime), was my gateway into trying more Anime series, so I feel obliged to at LEAST finish the story. lol

Had a dry spell with Monster currently sitting on episode 63 so I only have 12 to go, but I've just kind of gotten bored with it. Ever since the Red Rose Mansion cropped up things just haven't been super interesting to me and it seems like they are trying way to hard to be overly vague about everything.

I agree. The first half of season 1 of SAO was loads better than the second.

I was actually a bit confused at first, to be honest. I mean, I watched it on Toonami and knew beforehand how popular it was, but beyond that I went in essentially blind. And by the end of the 14th episode I was like, "Yeah. Okay. That was enjoyable and I can see why a lot of people would like this." But I was mistakenly working off the assumption that that was the end of the season.

I wasn't even two episodes into the second arc before I started thinking they should have quit while they were ahead. Compared to the first half, the second felt almost insulting. Both for the viewer and the characters. It went from an interesting action/adventure with a severe moral dilemma to a dull-
-hero must save the once incredibly powerful and resourceful damsel in distress.
Boo. Just... Boo.

To anyone currently watching it, I'd say, if you absolutely had to see the second half of the first season, just watch the first two episodes and the last one. You'll get all the information you'll need and without having to slog through the rest of it.

Heads up, though that Season 2 gets back to being closer to Season 1's first half, than the second half did. Though, there's a 3 episode arc in Season 2 that is literally not fun to sit through (Episodes 15-17), but it's not as cringe as ALfhiem at all.

Still debating whether the Gun Gale Online arc was better than the Aincrad one, because I liked the character development in Gun Gale, but Aincrad had a LOT of cool stuff going for it.

Started up Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace since it's one of the few animes this season that I hadn't gotten around to checking out. About 5 episodes into what has aired so far and it's a pretty good show. It's kind of like a super dark Sherlock Holmes set in the present. Both the main detective and assistant are extremely smart, but flawed individuals who really keep things interesting. The cases themselves are also very unique albeit super dark to the point of pissing you off and making you hope they meet a disturbing end in the fiction. The show also has a really interesting style as well with most characters just being shadows until they are introduced because the main characters don't acknowledge their existence unless they serve a purpose to the story. When solving the cases or explaining the evidence the show also creates kind of a theater atmosphere with spot lights and scenes sliding around while the characters narrate whats going on. There are also a bunch of little details scattered about that could be easily overlooked that give a little extra incite to certain characters. Pacing is also really nice so far it's been two 2 part cases with a one episode case giving a breather in the middle. Overall it's well worth checking out if you like murder mystery shows as long as you don't mind the over use of gore and violence against women/children.

About the only things negative about the show is the killers are sometimes a little to obvious due to the editing/dialogue and it's a pretty boy anime with the MC being a boy who dresses, looks, and sounds like a girl :P.

Just noticed Chu Feng: B.E.E pretty awesome show with some really nice animation. For whatever reason the first episode was only 13 minutes long, but episode 2 was standard length and both were so jam packed with action that I didn't notice the time difference.

Really like the OP.
