So, two days ago, I finally picked up Legend of Kay: Anniversary for Wii U, since I found one lone New copy at a GameStop for like, $25.

Pretty good game; nothing spectacular, since it's basically a more kiddy-fied Legend of Zelda/Ratchet & Clank, and the acting isn't too great, but I still like it a bit for what it is.

Getting harder for me to pick up Wii U games these days; all the games I do want (aside from 1 or 2 titles, like Zombi U) are pretty pricey, and a lil ol college student like me doesn't have the money to buy a bunch of $50 titles. lol

The amiiqo (which I just got a few days ago and promptly boxed up) was bought primarily for Mario Maker costume unlocks, less so for other dlc unlocks.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

So did anyone else pick up Devil's Third and is anyone else rather quite enjoying it?

I honestly don't really understand how it garnered such widespread criticism. The game is a ton of mindless fun. I hear the multiplayer is better than the story mode, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm going to give it a go later today, but at the moment I'm working through the single player game.

Devil's Third is far from a masterpiece, but the reviews gave me the impression the game would be a broken mess. In fact, it's actually perfectly playable and has quite a few neat touches. Sure, it's mindless, brainless violence (there's little to it, other than shooting or slicing everything up in sight), but it plays fine and is great fun in short doses.

If anyone has it and wants to try the multiplayer, hit me up.

Edit: The multiplayer is sweet!

I haven't given Devil's Third a shot yet, honestly, because I rarely ever pay full price for a title, when it comes out. lol I just wait until stuff gets cheap later.

I DO really want Devil's Third, though. It's from the same guy who made the 3D Ninja Gaiden games, and as someone who loved Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on Wii U (another game that got mixed-to-negative reception), I'm sure it's really awesome, in a mindless fun type of way. :D

The multiplayer is loads of fun. The maps are brilliant, with loads of different areas to transverse and use to your advantage. And there are lots of really unique and weird modes to play, beyond the usual.

This makes me quite excited for Mario Maker. There's some really really awesome and awesomely difficult stages.

I can't wait either! I will be getting it at midnight for my birthday with the anniversary amiibo. Also, my 12 year old brother in law, who has about 10 amiibos that I don't have is letting me borrow them all (because he doesn't use them and doesn't like them) so I will be getting those costume out the door (but luckily, for those who don't have them, I hear they are all unlockable through the game).

I have to say that right now I haven't used my Wii U as much as I do right now. With the virtual console playing Earthbound and Golden Sun and the slowly rising back catalog of uncompleted games like Affordable Space Adventure, SteamWorld Dig, Wonderful 101 etc. PLUS the back catalog of Wii games like Nights 2, Little King's Story etc. PLUS the announcement of Pikmin 4 (hopefully for the WiiU), Star Fox, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and the ever imminent Mario Maker, I will have my work cut out for me.

Honestly; I didn't care at all for Super Mario Maker, when it was first announced, because I thought it was kinda silly to pay $60, to do something you could easily do on your computer.

Then I heard that it was coming with around 100+ levels pre-loaded on, as if it was an actual game, AND allowed you to play as characters you own as amiibo (and, if it isn't obvious, I love Sonic, and I have a Sonic amiibo, so I can finally play as Sonic in a Mario game; my lifelong dream).

Outside of Star Fox Zero, Splatoon, Devil's Third, and (despite the controversy with it being digital) Fatal Frame 5, I gotta say; Super Mario Maker is a game for Wii U I truthfully really want now. Who knew that all it was going to take to convince me, was to add extra features to it? lol

I had the EXACT same feeling. When it was announced, I was like, "Eh not my thing. People will make dumb levels and there isn't much for me there." After more and more options and the stylistic influences from Mario Paint and the Amiibo functionality and the 4 different mario gameplay styles, I was convinced! Can't wait to play it and share with you guys.
