I wasn't surprised that MJF won, I was just disappointed. I think I have grown tired of MJF. His heel reign with the title got old really fast. I think AEW is above the "Ric Flair" style of champion. He would have a match, use some sort of under-handed means to win and then move on. Punching people with that Dynamite Ring to win is a great example. But, I also don't like his promo style. Someone said that all he does are like low-hanging fruit insults and he has never evolved past it. He's basically like an internet troll and that has grown stale as well.
But, I completely agree. All In: London will either be Ospreay Vs. MJF or Omega. The thing about Omega is I don't know if his body can handle it. That is the reason that he got back together with the Elite. He can be in Trios matches and not take as much damage. If he is in the title picture, then his body will be taking a lot of damage.
Absolutely loved all of the Mox stuff in the C2. He really is the Ace of AEW and one of the best wrestlers working today. He has no ego and just wants AEW to succeed more than himself.
I also have to give props to that "Mixed Nuts" match at World's End with Toni Storm. That match looked like it was a lot of fun.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
MJF is one dimensional and his promo style does wear thin. The frustrating thing is I think his character did show growth during his face turn a couple of years ago, but then he just slipped back into the same old routine as a heel.
I wondered the same about Omega, but the talk online is that he is going to step back into the title picture. I don't know why they would make that move if he isn't ready for it. It's hard to say though. He has definitely slowed down quite a bit in the last year and he looked a bit rough in some of his matches.

Lol I was right. Well partially at least.

It's going to be interesting to see how TNA fares in their new television deal.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Interesting wrestling news this week.
On the eve of TNA Impact's premiere on AMC Network, AEW has swiped four of their featured stars. The Rascalz have officially signed with AEW. Myron Reed was actually scheduled to face Leon Slater on the debut TNA show on AMC, but that match is obviously off the card now.
But it's swings and roundabouts for AEW, as Powerhouse Hobbs' contract just expired at midnight and it is believed that despite AEW offering him a substantial offer to resign, that he declined and is WWE bound. It sucks to see Hobbs go. I always thought he was just on the verge of really getting over, but unfortunately injuries and sometimes AEW's own booking often stalled him.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I think the main problem with Hobbs is that he can't talk. I watched an interview with Rene on AEW's Youtube about him. He talked about him growing up with a single Mom in a very bad neighborhood in Oakland California and it was just so boring. He sounded like sandpaper and I had a hard time getting through the interview with him. His AEW now makes sense because he has had somebody talking for him the entire time. At first, he was with Team Taz and now he has Samoa Joe with The Opps. He is also 36, so he is perfect for NXT and their aging stars. But, if he gets with a manager, he could be a solid #2 or #3 guy in a large group. Though, I also kind of doubt he will do well considering their are still some racist people over at WWE and their track record of pushing Black Men is not great at all.
The Rascalz get was real funny when I read about that. It amazes me how many people are trying to build up TNA for this AMC premiere when it is clear that they are like a 4th or 5th Level tier promotion. The Hardy's confirmed that WWE is using TNA to take down AEW and to move the talent to NXT. I used to really like TNA, but seeing Carlos Silva bend so much for WWE is real sad.
And I think The Rascalz can do real well in AEW. Their comedy can go over real well and they have so many people to fight multi man matches with. I would love to see them win the Trios Championship and have them be the focus of that division while feuding with many other stables.

Yeah, Hobbs definitely isn't much of a talker.
The funny thing about Matt Hardy saying that, is that he still went out and started claiming that he thinks TNA can beat AEW within a year
Until they scrap their partnership with WWE, they will always have a low ceiling that makes them NXT's NXT and WWE will continue to poach anyone who gets over.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Apparently last night's Premiere Episode of TNA was a complete failure.
No matter what happens, LOLTNA still exists.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I am most amazed that TNA is still around. Their white and blue impact days, the ring looked like a school gym with low lighting. My only guess is that they pay their wrestlers peanuts . The unknowns are there for the spotlight and get a chance to be on camera, the known ones like Hardys and Aj Styles are probably in it because they can't just quit as they have no other purpose in life. For god's sakes, they are as old as Hogan in 2004 , and Hogan was supposed to retire in 1993 if it were not for the big bucks from WCW back then. And the owners behind it, are they even making any money to keep putting the effort in?
truly the cockroach of pro wrestling.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Happy Royal Rumble day. It was always my favourite PPV and event growing up and it's still the only WWE PPV - if I am going to watch any WWE PPV - that I tend to watch most years. Although, despite that, I don't think I have really enjoyed one since around the 2018 edition (and that was an anomaly, since most of the ones that preceded it was poor). But still, there's usually fun surprises, debuts and returns. Edge returning in 2020 was amazing and Christian then making a brief return in 2021 was also cool.
I expect Gunther vs AJ to be fun. I am not expecting much from the Rumbles to be honest. No idea who is winning it and I don't really care, as WWE is garbage these days. But I'll give the show a watch, since I have Netflix anyways and it's on a reasonable time here because of it being in Saudi
Looking forward to seeing all the women dressed from head to toe in Power Rangers like spandex.
