I don't know about anyone else, but I was genuinely shocked AEW signed Andrade again and so quickly after his WWE exit. Especially as there are a TON of rumours about his exit from WWE having a lot of controversies surrounding it.
It seems like it might have already backfired? It's been noticed that Andrade was suspiciously absent from last week's episode of Dynamite and has not been seen since. He hasn't tweeted in nearly two weeks, one of his upcoming indie dates was cancelled and the whole point of Andrade attacking Omega seemed to be in order to build towards a match between the two at Wrestledream, which doesn't seem to be happening now.
I wonder what's going on.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I was amazed that he came back so quickly as well. I figured he would be coming to AEW eventually, but not right away.
He is a CMLL guy down in Mexico. And when WWE bought AAA, they asked him to be a part of it and he outright refused. There is bad blood between CMLL and AAA. They are very different promotions and the people associated with each would go to war for it.
So, since CMLL and AEW have a relationship, I figured Andrade would come back to CMLL full time and then show up part time for AEW. I was not expecting the other way around where he signed for AEW and then worked for CMLL as well.
I'm also kind of curious. He could do well both in AEW/CMLL. I think he burned a lot of bridges leaving WWE especially after his divorce with Charlotte Flair. So, I hope the same doesn't happen with AEW.
WrestleDream is in my city this week. I wish I could go, but I don't think I will make it as I already have plans. It looks like a solid show and should be fun, but it also kind of looks like a "B" PPV. Granted, a "B" PPV from AEW is better than almost any other show...

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Yeah, I have been kind of on the fence about watching Wrestledream. I am at a wedding all day Saturday and I am not sure I really have the time or inclination to catch up early Sunday morning. I don't think AEW has been bad since All Out, but I definitely haven't been that into the weekly shows or storylines/feuds since. Darby and Mox is probably the only thing that stands out. Maybe Kris and Toni too. It definitely has 'B show' vibes about it, but like you said, a B show from AEW is usually still something worth watching.
I hope it works out ok with Andrade. It was a cool moment when he returned, because it was the first time in a while that AEW managed to have some kind of genuine surprise. I quite enjoyed his first run with AEW. Before he left, his feud with the House of Black was pretty enjoyable. Fightful released an article after my post on the topic of Andrade. It wasn't a report as such, but they said whatever the reason for his absence is, it is being kept ultra secret and no one will reveal the reason. I am not sure that's a good sign, but maybe it'll resolve itself soon.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Ok, Meltzer is claiming that Andrade actually has a 90 days non-compete clause from WWE that AEW was not aware of and WWE has sent AEW a letter.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Yeah, that sounds exactly like something WWE would do.
Fire somebody. They show up on television. Go back and say that he wasn't fired and they have a 90 Day Non Compete Clause.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Apparently, from a follow up report, it might actually be a ONE YEAR non compete clause!
That is insane if true. How can anyone who is fired have a non compete clause, let alone one for an entire year? WWE are so petty.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I will guess there is a price for that in the contract, surely his contract is high enough to cover the 1 year none compete, otherwise its on him to accept such terms
Re: The Wrestling Thread
AEW has been suffering another lull in my opinion. That said, Blood and Guts looked insane! I can't wait to catch up and watch it.

Blood and Guts looked absolutely insane!
I'm also happy that they had a female version because many of them have been clamoring to do more hardcore matches. With Blood and Guts and the newly introduced Women's Tag Team Belts, I'm glad to see that the entire division is getting to show its depth.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I watched it. It's best Blood & Guts show they have ever put on, hands down. Skye Blue and Kyle O'Reilly were both the MVPs and deserve a decent push after this in my opinion. Skye has really come on a long way in the last couple of years.
The two matches themselves were also probably the best Blood & Guts matches they have done so far, so it's impressive that they managed to outdo themselves with two matches and both on the same night.
I haven't really watched much AEW since All Out and it seems like they have had a ton of bad luck lately with stories and angles having to be dropped or changed due to injuries and other issues. That was a great show they. Fair play.
