Re: The Wrestling Thread
I remember a time when internet rumors were pretty much fact, at least when it came to wrestling and over things on tv
Times have changed. People are much better about hiding info now or fooling us.
This is why they should have ended Taker's streak by now, another Taker/Triple match just seems pointless. It's already been done, and like I said before, if Michaels couldn't beat Taker after two attemps, we know damn well that Triple H won't. Boring, not looking forward to this match
Also. Lawler and Cole just isn't interesting to me like AT ALL. I know they just HAVE to do a Mania match involving someone who can't wrestle, but I wish it was something high profile and interesting like Big Show against Mayweather was. Cole and Lawler is something they should have already pulled the trigger on by now. Too little, too late
I'm actually a bit less enthused about Mania now. We have a nobody like Del Rio main eventing, a boring Taker/Triple H feud, a pointless Lawler/Cole match and Edge versus.....who is he facing again?
Just give me a Cena/Rock match, at least that would give me something to get excited about

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Maybe they did hire Sting but he got stuck while trying to descend from the rafters and so they needed a last minute replacement so they grabbed Triple H and said, "Hey we haven't seen you in awhile? That'll work for us!! Get out there!" Taker vs Triple H! Cool, haven't seen that before! I'm stoked! Great job WWE! Thanks for reminding why I don't watch as religiously as I used to!
Who's going to ref the match? Ric Flair?
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I'm happy to see both The Undertaker and Triple H return. I like both wrestlers, a lot. However, I was hoping for more than those two. Frankly, it was never a question IF Taker and HHH would return, but rather a question WHEN they would return. So it boggles my mind that they got more hype for their return than The Rock did. I was expecting something just as big as The Rock's return since it had all that "2-21-11" hype behind it.

Good ol' JR comments on his blog:
"No...I don't hate Michael Cole. I also don't hate the screwdriver or hammer hanging in my garage which are also tools."

JR's always been the best, lol.
I have to say I used to be a big fan, but kind of lost interest after the attitude era died out. I heard The Rock was back and checked out his segments, hilariously epic stuff. It'll be an interesting next few weeks up to Wrestlemania...

Re: The Wrestling Thread
For those of you who saw it, what did you think of the Wrestler? What did you think of the ending? I just watched it yesterday and this one really got inside my head as I found myself thinking about it for the rest of the day.
Even with all the acclaim it got, I was still surprised by how moving it was. This is one of those movies that tugs on the heartstrings without being sappy or melodramatic. It turned out to be a pretty accurate portrayal of the sport as well.
I haven't seen Morisa Tomei in a long time. For someone approaching her late forties, she's still one of the most attractive women I have ever seen in Hollywood

I watched about half of it. I'd be really interested in seeing the other half, though. I really liked what I saw.Gamerforlife wrote:For those of you who saw it, what did you think of the Wrestler? Re: The Wrestling Thread
I thought The Wrestler was great! I agree, it does portray the lifestyle pretty well. One scene in particular that got to me was when he sits down for the convention, and all the old-timers are either crippled, barely conscious, or both, and how he realizes that the spark is starting to fizzle.. It's intense without being overly provocative.
And Tomei - WOW!
