It's amazing how big of a jump there is between Street Fighter and Street Fighter II.hashiriya1 wrote:I have played tons of crappy games, but the one that keeps popping up in my head is Street Fighter 1. I have given this game so many chances, but its dismal controls kill me every time. I still haven't deleted it from my MAME ROM list, so that means I still have hope for it.

That is a good list, it does break away the cliched pickings. If I had to make one of my own, it would include
Bubsy 3D
Rise of the Robots
Mortal Kombat: Special Forces (not even worth a rental)
X-Men (NES)

Again, my list will likely be Nintendo-heavy, just like my best list. Also, we're staying after 1985, eliminating a lot of the worst of the 2600 lineup. Of course, these are limited to games with which I have first-hand experience.
I'll have to echo others on a couple of these.
Toxic Crusaders (NES)
Super Pitfall (NES)
X-Men (NES)
Action 52 (NES)
Double Dragon (2600) (Impressive, but unplayable)
Beetlejuice (NES)
Terminator 2 (not the arcade port) (Gameboy)
Deadly Towers (NES)
Pit Fighter (SNES)
10 Yard Fight (NES)

Justice League Task Force is horrible. Good call to ever mentioned that one.
Though Ultraman for the SNES has to be one of the worst games I have ever played. I much rather play Shaq Fu over Ultraman ever again.

Justice League Task Force is actually not as bad as some of the other games on there. I suggest you try Street Combat, BattleBlaze, or the horrendous Primal Rage port.
And having made it to the final boss in Ultraman, yes, that game is pure garbage.

Yeah, what a stinker. For some reason it's no where as near as good as the Genesis version. You think it would be the other way around.Limewater wrote: Pit Fighter (SNES)

I actually had no idea that the Genesis version was any better until you mentioned it. Since I've never played it in the Arcade, I just figured the SNES and Genesis versions must be the same.Luke wrote:Yeah, what a stinker. Re: Top 10 Worst Games from 1985-2005
I genuinely don't think it's possible for the Genesis version to be as bad or worse than the SNES version of Pit Fighter. We're talking single frame attack animations, about five colors, tiny sprites, garbled audio, practically nonexistent gameplay, no options, no multiplayer, no difficulty settings...it's crap. It's utter crap.
Re: Top 10 Worst Games from 1985-2005
I own the US and Japanese versions of Pit Fighter for the Genesis. They're leaps and bounds better than their SNES counterpart. They're actually playable, and even sometimes enjoyable. The garbled audio still exists, but it adds a little charm to it.
edit: Just remembered that my science project in the 8th grade was called "Genesized" I took pictures and IQ evaluations of friends before and after playing two straight hours of Genesis games. Pit Fighter was one of the games they played.

hahaha i like that one, too!Jrecee wrote:Oh I'm sure it's not the worst saturn game. But it's the worst one I own. The other bad one is jurassic park 2.
i dunno, maybe it's just childhood memories getting in the way, or the fact that i could only afford the really cheap games for a long time before i learned about the swap trick, but i spent a lot of time with that little robot in daedalus. it reminded me of the dungeons in shining in the darkness, which is another game i played to death as a kid.
