Ziggy's SNES color restoration (lots of pics)
Re: Ziggy's SNES color restoration (lots of pics)
But I've seen several non-yellow SNESs that have a chip or crack in that corner as well. Mine is one of them. Actually come to think of it, I have two non-yellow SNESs like this. That particular corner must somehow be more fragile than the rest of the console.

Possibly the light emitting diode is to blame?Redifer wrote:But I've seen several non-yellow SNESs that have a chip or crack in that corner as well. Mine is one of them. I might try this, but miraculously the only yellowed parts on my SNES are the controller ports.

I would love to sand that corner down and respray that SNES, but it currently has a problem which I believe is bad video RAM. I'm not gonna bother fixing minor cosmetic issues on the console when it has playability issues.
IIRC the plastic piece around the controller ports wont come off unless you desolder the controllers ports from the PCB they're mounted to. I could be wrong though. That area on my console was one of the few areas that didn't yellow, so I didn't have to spray it. In any event, you could just tape it and spray.GameMasterGuy wrote:I might try this, but miraculously the only yellowed parts on my SNES are the controller ports.
