I never was into competitive battling, and I've been a Pokemon guy since the Red days.
I'll admit, I am a bit skeptical seeing as I feel the art direction is taking a turn for Yu-Gi-Oh... (ASH sent out BLUE-EYES WHITE DRAGON! Use WHITE LIGHTNING!!!) but after looking more into the art, I have an appreciation for it. Not that I'm knocking Yu-Gi-Oh, seeing as I used to be a huge fan when it was big around 6-8 years ago, but it seemed out of place at the time.
I think they could've done a better naming job, but I guess after 450 names you tend to run out of cleverness.

Haven't looked much into the region itself, but the graphical style seems awesome to me.
Fanboyism says why isn't this a spiritual Pokemon Colosseum sequel, with more of the same Pokemon elements. I felt that game was a great change for an old formula and I'm a bit disappointed they've let that sit.
The business guy inside wonders why then didn't delay this and rework it for 3DS, but then again it probably wouldn't have mattered much.

Tl;Dr = Looking forward to it. Five bucks says Black is the more popular of the two.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Which is partly why I'm considering getting White. Or both. If I leave White sealed, it will probably end up being worth more in the future...

Which is why I'll buy a copy of each, keep them sealed for around three weeks, wait for the sales information, and then open the more popular of the two. If I can anyway.

I've got the game now :). It's pretty fun, but my problem is that it's still the same pokemon forumula:
[insert evil pokemon group] + [asshole rival] + [NEW FEATURE: Friends :)] + [Gyms] + [New Pokemon].

To be fair though, I would give it an 8.5. The cut scenes in this game are really impressive for the DS, and I enjoy how the gyms have changed a bit. The gyms are more like puzzles for the gyms instead of run in destroy everyone, (unless you lose a battle the back to the poke center) but there's some with pokemon trivia and what not, and it helps the game having a little variety, but all in all. It's still pokemon, but they've also focused on higher end fights as well.

Anyway, I would recommend picking it up if you're in need of a new pokemon game, or a RPG for the DS, but if you didn't like Pokemon before, this isn't going to change your mind.

I heard white is actually being preordered more because Zekrom is the more popular of the two. So I'll probably get Black.

Pokemon games always sell a ton, even if White is the rare one of the two it will still have forty times as much copies than other games.

I doubt it's ever going to be more expensive than retail price. Even mint boxed Crystal was never as expensive as it was at retail.

So, as Racketboy says "Videogames are not an investment". Save your money!

Anyways, Erufuun rules, I want to play with one ASAP.
