Yeah, it definitely won't run in Mame. So this one is only playable on JP/PAL ps2?

Thats a bit of a bummer. Still, the rest of the year looks top notch, so not too big of a deal to miss on one month.

I'll be perfectly happy to explain how to emulate PS2 to anyone interested. It's quite easy and very stable.

I wonder if my machine could handle it. If so, this could open up a whole world of madness!

And yes, I would greatly appreciate that explaination!

my PC couldn't handle it, though my specs kind of sec (check previously in this thread). I remember trying to play Ibara via emulation before I bought a real copy and it was constant slow-motion.

Oddly enough, PC World has an article on how to emulate PS2. It looks like my shmup-top probably couldn't handle all of that. It's 2.1g dual core with 3GB ram, but integrated video is probably gonna choke it pretty bad.

No need to emulate the PS2 to run Homura. Taito Type X games were designed on PC hardware...just google 'Taito Type X Loader' to see what comes up

Taito Type X games I have on my laptop: Homura, Giga Wing Generations, Raiden IV, Chaos Breaker, Spica Adventure.

I'm pretty lacking in PC knowledge, so I don't know where to find my video card info.

Processor: Pentium B960 @ 2.2 GHz
Ram: 4GB

Well damn! I knew Type X was designed on PC hardware, but I always figured if it worked, it would be integrated into Mame like STV, Neo Geo, and all that jazz. I'll have to look into this!

I still wouldn't mind learning how to emulate ps2 stuff though, if it looks like my machine can handle it.

I usually advise people to run a DirectX diagnostic. Just bring up Windows search and type "dxdiag". Let it run and click the display tab at the top, important info will be the name and approx total memory.

That processor will run a PS2 emulator, but without knowledge of what kind of resources Homura needs I can't really estimate much. I think you'll be safe though. And that's more than enough RAM.

If this Taito X Loader works out though, that'll be cool.
