Shmup of the Month Club 2012

Well I was thinking that focusing on a game a month would be fun, mostly so we can post high scores and see who comes out on top. I think all ideas should be shared though, and that we should all run it together.

....Can we agree on starting things off with some Toaplan? Love me some Toaplan.

Sounds fun. Maybe have them alternating, so that we do something retro one month, then manic the next.

Psikyo and Seibu side by side would make me cry like a baby.

Maybe we could have a runner up/secondary shmup each month, in case not everyone can play the chosen game. Both games still being from that dev, of course. Just an idea.

I'm quite looking forward to this!

I say yes to toaplan. And we shouldnt forget Taito, they are pretty influencial to the genre. Although that list is already solid.

I AM IN!!!! I will be forced to emulate some of the SNES/GEN shmups before I get a hold of them. I have lots of DC, PSX, PS2, 360 shooters.

This sounds like fun! I like the developer idea. Good for a well rounded playing style.

Edit: If we go by developers, we should be safe from Cho Aniki.

maybe we could upvote/downvote games one at a time? you can vote more than once but maybe let at least two others cast votes before you vote again.
