Crimzon Clover - Hot damn, I loved this game and played it to death when it came out. Would gladly boot it up again.

Great Mahou Daisakusen/Dimahoo -"Dimahoo, released in Japan as Great Mahou Daisakusen, is a medieval-themed shooter." All I needed to know.

Cotton 100% - I've never played any of these games, so I just picked the earliest one of the franchise.

Thunder Dragon 2/Big Bang - It's called Thunder Dragon 2, therefore it's the best choice.

Shienryuu - I wasn't too big on Xexex or Twin Hawk, but I very much enjoy Shienryuu.

Batsugun - I was tempted to vote for DonPachi, as I've never actually played the original, I can't resist throwing a vote out for Batsugun as it's in my top 5 personal favorites.

Varth - Was ExedExes first pick so I wanted to go with it.

Dragon Spirit - Wow, I was surprised to see this game has nearly a dozen ports. I had a lot of fun with this when I had a PC Engine and I'd like to re-visit it and check out the arcade version.

Skonec's Homura - Wasn't familiar with any of these games, but this one looks like the most interesting of the bunch at a quick glance.

Air Gallet - I remember this was the first game hashiriya1 has mentioned.

Chaos Field - I didn't dig too deeply into this game but I thought it was awesome how it was basically 100% boss fights/boss rush.

it will be some rich irony indeed if voting leads to everyone picking the one game I selected to put on my list that I least want to play

On the other hand, people aren't picking Xexex, so that's a good thing!

Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire - Looks to be in my wheelhouse
Giga Wing - This one barely lost to MM and I'd love to officially do it
Cotton 100% - I like the title? (honestly have no experience with this series)
Gunnail - Out of the 3 NMK choices, that one looked the best
Xexex - KONAMI! Nuff said.
DonPachi - DDP is great, so let's go back to the first one
Varth - It already should have been there!
Zanac - Let's get back to the original after ZXZ
Blue Hawk - Dooyong makes some dang fine stuff in the shmup field
Air Gallet - This also should have been there already!
Galaga - Because I love this game, tons of memories

If Varth was your original pick, I will change my vote.

For the record, I see no problem with anyone changing your votes, so long as it's before I do the final tally at the end of the month. Edit the original post you made though, so it'll be easier for me.

Chaos Field - I didn't dig too deeply into this game but I thought it was awesome how it was basically 100% boss fights/boss rush.

I see how it is.

I changed my vote to Chaos field as well. It's also on the Wii, by the way, bruno.

I dunno if I'm allowed to vote on this as I didnt really particpate last year. Those were the ones I thought looked most fun though, although my particpation will likely be low next year too.

I'm a little sad that the games here seem quite similar here too. This shmup club isn't really big on horizontal shooters huh? I was secretly hoping someone would vote in ProGear so that I could go to the arcade and join in. I've been playing that a lot lately and it's quickly becoming one of ym favourites in the genre.

Pro Gear was my #2 choice for a selection, but I wanted to play something in the cute 'em up, but still not easy genre. So a Cotton / Parodius game was my process for this year.

We do have a Pro Gear Hi-Score thread and if anyone else gets into it, i'd happily join in again. Great game.

I think this voting, particularly vote-changing, is funny - true democracy at work, bargaining for votes, trying to purposely rig-in bad choices.

Man, no matter what wins, there are some really great games that I did not expect to see here. I am very happy we went with this idea. EllertMichael, I love that you put a Dooyong game in your list, and another shooter I had never even heard of!

Also, Mike, which Cotton game is on the PC Engine? I know its called Cotton: Fantastic Dream or something, but is this a different game from Cotton 100%? I have no experience with the Cotton series but I am looking forward to trying it out.
