It's available on PSX-J and SAT-J. I'm sure it has many accessible MAME roms.

I've never had problems with PS1 emulation on Xbox, only thing is that it can be annoying to get the stupid things to run sometimes depending on how the files are set up. There are MAME emulators for Xbox as well though, that's probably your best bet if you want to play it on your TV and don't want to buy the game.

Oh yea... Forgot about MAME... I'll have to check if I already have it loaded. That is by far my largest game set on my system. Thanks

Edit:
It was there! This is the whole reason I had my Xbox modded... To track down shmups I know I can't afford at the moment. Glad it worked out a I can take part this month!

1st run in about 2 years - like this game a lot, tons of powerups and cool enemies. Can be tough to recover though, lost all 3 lives about 20 seconds apart.

590,300 - mjmjr25 - stage 3 - SAT-J

EDIT: Added the missing ZERO from my score :P

I'll be more invested in this once Super Star Shooter is done. Realized my 2.75m ain't gonna keep me in the top 20/30 for long, but I'd love to beat that in-game high score.

I improved a bit today (2.4mil) but I think i'm done. I may give it one more go tomorrow, but playing on keyboard is miserable for me - I never did get a stick to work on this one, despite all the troubleshooting.

For the most part, it's somewhat playable, much more so than Galuda would've been on keyboard, but trying to consistently line up the pods or the orange entrapments is just spotty, I can't get a run where I pull them all off.

I am killing the boss quickly now though, so that is a huge help.

I think Hobie had posted that he had gotten it to work with a stick, not 100% sure, but I remember something to that effect.

Awesome job exed!

I think I could probably add another 100-200K, maybe, but 2.8 is damn impressive. Have you play pretty close to perfect to hit that.

On the 2nd pod bonus, when there are (4) of them.

How did you do it? Did you do (2) 80K or were you able to get all (4) at once? And if so, what was that worth?

Instead of going for the gray pods, I've timed the enemy sets to where I get a third set of 3-4 missile spammers right after the final 80K Alpha symbol. Ignored the pods and just shot missiles up to the boss. That has been my strategy ever since I got the 2.75 million. I must have spent around 4-6 hours trying to get that between last night and this afternoon, but kept losing *1* life on the boss. That is 100K out the window, and was only getting 2.65-2.76 on those runs.
