Ha ha, its all good, I should have stayed up later last night! Since you two are over 4m, and I know Mike would be interested, should we start a seperate high score thread for Dimahoo? I love having the competition, it pushes me to get better.

In between Metal Black runs of course.

Oh, and congrats for the high score!

A Dimahoo thread would be sweet, but I am done with that game for a while. I've spent more time on it than I care to admit!

Anyhoo, to get on the board for Gun Frontier's sequel, Metal Black.

I played this game casually years ago when I bought it but now I have a reason to really get into it. Much more relaxing than the panic fest that is Dimahoo. My only gripe with this game is being killed by off-screen enemies. Argh!

Awesome, thanks. Updated the OP further and made the final score post... obviously.

As for Metal Black let's hope I can overcome my laziness and throw this sucker in tonight! I fuckin love this game, every bit of it. It's odd too, because I typically don't care for Taito shooters. This one just really resonates with me though. It's one of the first Saturn shmups I imported.

There aren't really any weird scoring strategies with this one, are there?

Apparently not. It's just a shoot-everything-that-moves kinda game. If you want to score high, it all depends how lucky you are in the bonus stages. I say "lucky" because it's more luck than skill, IMO.

PS. You might want to update the thread title to "Metal Black"

Not that different from all the other months! For me, it works very well because I don't have to play it EVERY NIGHT, I have time to chase after Hash and I can still play C&C in the other TR thread which will more than likely take more time to finish. This game is gonna be just as active as Dimahoo! (right? RIGHT?) For me it is, to get to Stage 3 is gonna be quite a chore

If anything, with the additional ports, we'll see a lot more people get into this. Plus there's always those great Taito Legends 2 games to crash down with after you get frustrated in MB!

Like CRAZY BALLOON

Don't laugh, 20K is pretty top flight on that game :)
