That's always the case.

Well I have a Super Gameboy and the Gameboy Player for GCN, so maybe I'll pick up the cart sometime. I'll just play Haunted Castle before hand so it'll seem awesome no matter what.

I always get Curse of Darkness and Legacy of Darkness confused.

You can play as Trevor in that game? I never knew that.

You have to put up with beating it first.

Yep, though as MidnightRider said, you have to beat it first. It also changes the gameplay dramatically and makes it quite easy, but at least I don't have to put up with the summoning and power leveling. I beat it back in 2009 and it's sat on my memory card ever since.

Did you ever beat Lament of Innocence? I remember reading about Curse of Darkness when it was coming out (I think I even got a demo of it in the mail) and there's an item you can get if you have a cleared save of Lament on the memory card (and that item is absent in the Xbox version).

Yes I have, though I did that years ago when it first came out. Its true though, if you have a LoI save on your memory card, a special item will appear in the game. The item in question is worth a lot of money in the in-game store, but that's about all it does. Still, it's not bad if you need to buy some things, and you get to play Lament of Innocence in the process, which is all around the superior game in my opinion.

I have Curse of Darkness already loaded on my PS2's hard drive, so I'll check it out eventually. Even if I don't beat it, I'll at least make an attempt. I have to admit though, reading this review kinda turned me off to the game...

At some point in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, there's a stage called the Tower of Eternity. It is fifty floors, which means you go through fifty identical rooms, fighting enemies over and over.

I just wanted to add that when I hear Castlevania, "Bloody Tears" the metal version always plays in my head and stays there for days:

Which BTW is not by Cradle of Filth nor has it ever been covered by CoF. I mean come on, does it sound anything like them? It certainly isn't on the album pictured in this video. I don't know how this misinformation spread so much.

Nonetheless, it's freaking awesome!

Sometimes you just have to look things up. I seriously came across the version here looking for Iron Maiden. http://castlevaniadungeon.net/Media/dracbatl.html
