OK, so that last one might be a little lame, I guess I'm just a huge nerd for the first Castlevania. But I think the invincibility door glitch and money bag trick are cool little finds.

Thanks for posting that! Very informative. For me, the first Castlevania for NES was always the hardest. Never beat it.

Do you have any tips/hints for Super Castlevania IV for SNES? I'm on Stage A (10 I think)...the clock/gear stage and it's kicking my ass!

Ah yeah, the Clock Tower stage with Bloody Tears music. I never found that one to be all that difficult to be honest. I'd say watch a YouTube video, that'd be better than anything I could try and type out.


It's been a while since I've play CV4 and enjoyed it. It was the first CV game I ever played, and I played the hell out of it (died maybe a million times before beating it for the first time lol). But after playing 1 and 3 so much, and really enjoying them, 4 kinda lost it's magic for me. It just doesn't feel as good as it use to.

Two years later, and I still haven't been able to get into that one. And IIRC, I even turned it on once or twice since posting that. One of these days I would like to play through it, just because I'm a CV nut.

that thread bummed me out Zig. I got rid of Chronicles a while back like an idiot. Now I miss it big time.

I got rid of Chronicles just recently actually. I needed the cash, and I never really liked that game. I figure I'll just play a burn of it whenever I decide to try and play it.

The game is not that expensive tho, $30-40 is the going rate on eBay IIRC.

But yeah, that sucks man. We've all been there before. Funny actually, that copy of Chronicles that I sold recently, that was my second copy of the game. I sold the first and bought it again. I'm on my second copy of Dracula X (SNES) too, but I'm not planning on selling that one again since the price skyrocketed.

Castlevania 64 has some awesome stuff in it but is pretty subpar in just about every category.
