Ah, I fully understand. Thanks for another video I am going to enjoy right now
Does this mean that m5 had access to the source code?
That and I pm´d begging for a rom
Do you know about the SNES world warriors hacks that enabled the bosses?
Those were great until hyper fighting was released. How were those created? also access to source code?
The level of programming changes in the taiwanese arcade bootlegs I'm going to guess that the hackers had the source code or a way to disassemble the rom data. Watching the vid of the snes hack it looks like a pretty serious hack so whoever made this one probably also had the source code or disassembled code. The arcade bootlegs have the programming changed so the game runs on a custom pcb there's some serious hacking in there that I doubt could have been done just by hex editing like what I've been doing.

Yeah I think it was chun li I found out how the hackers changed colours in the bootlegs. Unfortunately they only did pallette swaps instead of modifying the pallette directly so I'm only able to interchange pallettes between characters. I also did pallette swapping with the sf2 title logo and found all the different colour combinations found in the various bootleg versions as well as some new ones. The custom red logo in sheng long 5 is actually a pallette that's been reprogrammed. I found this reprogrammed logo hidden in the koryu / m6 edition which normally doesn't show the logo at all. It was kind of a cool discovery finding this custom logo that was in the end never used.

Indeed, it looks beautiful. So you´re checking out all other hacks as well and combining them. That´s incredible.

Well yeah things like game physics are really difficult to romhack on your own so using already hacked versions makes it easier to find where the data I want to change is. Also koryu / m6 are hacked out of champion edition 920313 which is the same version that m5 is hacked out of. And the 920313 champion edition rom is what mame / emulators use for the base rom so it's a very easy to download version of champion edition. Other hacks like the three rainbows and m4 are hacked out of different versions of champion edition so I can't really use those because the hex code is different.

The new Font color looks nice. Kind of like Hyper Fighting/Turbo.
Cool color schemes for the characters, especially Vega and M Bison. You put alot of work into that.
