Umm... why isn't "Capcom Digital Collection" on the list for North American releases? The compilation does include "1942: Joint Strike". Also, does "Wartech: Senko No Ronde" not qualify to be on the list???

If you want to add compilation disc releases, I would consider these Shmups too no?

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Vol. 1- Has Geometry Wars.
Xbox Live Arcade Game Pack- Has Geometry Wars 2.
Qubed- Has Rez HD.
Doesn't really count but Shadows of the Damned has a few Horizontal shmup levels (I wanna say more than 3).

Edit: I also agree with Wartech & the CapCollect.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Eschatos 2? No. Never heard that. Qute hasn't ever claimed that or marketed it as such that I've seen. You should remove that notation w/o some sort of citation.

Does anyone know where I can find a good deal on Japanese Xbox 360? I really want to start collecting but every 360 I see on eBay is an older model.

If you are a member on shmups.system11, I would try sending Rancor a PM. He has always been very fair to me. If his prices are too high, then prices in Japan are probably too high, and you might be better off waiting for a local seller, or going the JTAG route.

Here is a link to his store: http://www.sk8tokyo.com/shmup/

Any insight on the title Strike Witches: Shirogane no Tsubasa? I don't know much about the title but I saw it on another SHMUP list on Amazon.

While I've bumped the digital version of this checklist of late, this was one strictly for physical releases, including bolded notes for those that work on US machines.

If anything needs to be updated, please post here. Thanks.

For my own collection, I've had the (modest) NA Shmup library for some time - although I'm remiss to note I only opened DeathSmiles and Otomedius recently. Years back I grabbed the deluxe Resurrection offering and enjoy that one a good bit. Lastly, as I'm fine tuning my 360 library I finally jumped on Mushihimesama: Futari 1.5 and shortly will grab EspGaluda II Black label. They're the platinum collection versions but cool to add nonetheless. The Muchi Muchi Pork / Pink Sweets is on the list but considerably pricey (just saw a frantic auction land it around $90).

Akai Katana
DeathSmiles
Raiden Fighters Aces
Raiden IV
Otomedius: Excellent
Dodonpachi: Resurrection Deluxe Edition
Mushihimesama: Futari Version 1.5

soon:
EspGaluda II - Black Label
Muchi Muchi Pork! / (Ibara II): Pink Sweets

Mushihimesama: Futari Version 1.5

I had no idea how many of the menus were in English so what an awesome surprise. Game rules of course.
