I have an Atari.......... 600.

It's great to play "5200 games with normal controls" but the games themselves are kinda tough to track down.

Dude... I honestly forget that thing exists. Is it a 600XL or is there an OG 600?

Do games just use the keyboard for controls?

Dug into it a bit & apparently the computer & video game console divisions at Atari were big internal rivals. No true hardware reason the software between 5200 & 8 bit Atari computers weren't compatible. All big company, internal politics BS  . Would've been sweet.

I've got an XL. The computer accepts 9-pin sticks so simply using a 2600 joystick is the most obvious option.

There are some games that also use the keyboard too. The original version of Star Raiders remains a highlight.

That's awesome. Didn't know it was standard 9 pin. I've been really eying an 800 so you get a real keyboard (vs 400 squishy "button keys"). I'll dig more into the 600 & 1200 now 8)

Thread has me wanting to emu some 5200 now too
