thanks so much. I guess I will be getting the BFG edition, I already own all the classic dooms so its crazy to pay $20 for that wad file but I never paid for DOOM3(pirated) so I guess its fair game. Also it has add-ons for DOOM3 maybe I should check out.

--------------------

playing the classic DOOMs I saw a little bit of videos on DOOM2016 game play and I think the team did a great job of transferring DOOM from the 2D space in the 3D space. Feels DOOM in 3D. Albeit I can't hate the original effort of DOOM3 , not sure of the tech of the time would allow it to have such action filled 3D shooter and the transition into a survival-horror FPS felt just a natural path of evolution. Was it the first survival horror FPS?

I am on level 2 and already starting to not like this Final Doom thing

Shooting a wall to open an invisible bridge? really? Sounds like that game called the impossible game.

Final Doom's campaigns are very much along the lines of early 90's expansion packs where they're designed to be extremely difficult. They can be pretty unfair at times.

for every unfair game, there is a save any where. Kill enemy #1 save, shoot 2 rockets at enemy #2 , save again.

Have you guys seen the work done on 32X Doom? Pretty impressive.

I had to go to youtube to see that you actually can complete FinalDoom: OnSlaught in 1 go.
Although MacDavis know the whole level by heart he still got hit and health drop down to 70% at least.

is there any advantage to 1 barrel shotgun? I noticed you can switch between 1 and 2

Yes, there are a few advantages over the super shotty:

1. Ammo Consumption - The pump uses only one shell to fire, while the super shotty uses two.

2. Rate of Fire - The pump fires much faster because you don't have to go through the reloading animation every time you pull the trigger.

3. Accuracy - The pump has a smaller grouping for each shot that tends towards a horizontal line. It makes the pump better at longer ranges than the super shotty.

It uses less ammo and the damage spread is not as wide. The double-barrel is more useful when you're up in something's face. The single-barrel is more useful at mid-range, as you hit with more of the blast and use less ammo for better overall damage due to the tighter spread.

Now if I only knew this earlier on. I thought logic demands 2 barrels are more powerful than 1 barrel.

How do you guys know this stuff? do you read it in the manuals? I would never know that 2 barrels spread wider than 1 barrel.
