Which of these platformers would make an awesome 3D comeback
As in full-on triple dimension. Not just 3D graphics.

None? Though I would take a crappy 3D Alex Kidd to none at all.

totally agree. mario 64 is the only game i have enjoyed that made the 2d to 3d jump.
if you took a shit, please put it back

I also agree. I think none of those games has the potential to be a good game in 3D. The most acceptable would be Alex Kidd in my opinion. It has some gameplay elements that could work in 3D, if it is only based on Miracle World.

Ristar. The original game, was a slow paced platformer, with a lot of exploration, and the stretching hands mechanic. All 3 would make for an excellent transition to 3D gameplay.
Sparkster is probably the worst idea for a fully 3D platform game. Unless they remove the jetpack....which would make it a hack and slash?

Unless the game auto-aimed at posts or they filled the landscape with them, the game would require a lot of precision for the stretching. None of the alternatives seem like a lot of fun.

Or they could just make the game for the Wii

Or yeah use lock on. It breaks the game with sonic, but it should work wonders on ristar. Point to general direction and you grab specific posts. Also the posts should be really large, and separate from each other, so you don't pick the wrong one.

Gonna catch flak for this, but I actually like Earthworm Jim 3D on the N64.
I voted for the bat, be interesting as a 3D for the jump-flying aspect.

Alex Kidd could use a comeback in general. Could've been a really great platformer series had they stuck to and refined the gameplay formula of the first game in its sequels.

Aero the acrobat or sparkster seem the most interesting to move into 3d, with mechanics I can imagine working, but none of them really appeal to me for a 3D game.
I'd take a 2.5d alex kidd if it was more like miracle world and less like enchanted castle though.
