Racketboy isn't retro. Most of yous prefer the Xbox One to the VIC-20 or Vectrex. That blows my mind.

Also, old Magic: The Gathering cards are awesome but also awesomely broken. Game became playable around the 4th edition.

Blue/Green Wild Mongrel Madness Deck was most of my tourney success, but started with revised a little after unlimited unfortunately. However a dude dropped his collection outside my house once because he left the cards on top of his car and drove off. There were multiples of the power nine in there, so as I was going through the box I was thinking I was gonna be rich I left my front door open and when he backtracked he seen me going through everything and I returned it so that was that.

At one point I was making a living off MTG, winning tournaments and selling the rares to card shops for their stock, boxes upon boxes as prizes. No PTQ stuff just traveling, local winnings flipping rares few bucks a week kinda thing.

And a lot less fun in the process.

The systems themselves arent retro. The act of playing those old systems now is retro-gaming. By playing these 'out of date' machines we are imitating the entertainment of our past.

The question should have always been, "is playing the PS2 retro?"

By the way since I am American I will use the Merriam-Webster's definition and not Oxford's.

relating to, reviving, or being the styles and especially the fashions of the past :  fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned <a retro look>

Here is a list of synonyms listed too. antique, oldfangled, old-school, old-time, old-timey, old-world, quaint, old–fashioned, retrograde, vintage

Yeah! Man, i was studied graphic design in university and i was told by all teachers about that.

Retro is what imitates things of the past.
Vintage - what is still being made with the same technology as 30+ years ago.

Sadly no one gives a Kirby and everyone use "retro" word for old stuff.

Dammit.

I think 'vintage' (adj.) can mean, basically, "old". Per Merriam-Webster:

of old, recognized, and enduring interest, importance, or quality : classic
dating from the past : old

Obviously the retro thing is not that big of a deal, but it has always seemed to me that it's just a misconception that could be cleared up.

RELATIVELY speaking, it's 'retro'.

Plus, all that about language evolving over time and such.
