My brother's video game paintings

Post by Ziggy »

I asked my brother if I could share his video game paintings on the forum. I like them a lot, and I thought you guys would too.

These are acrylic paint on canvas. Sorry that they're only medium resolution with watermarks, but he doesn't want any one stealing them. The pictures really don't do them justice, they look so much better in person. You lose the finer details, and the colors in the pictures aren't dead on. Still, enough to enjoy.

^ His least favorite painting. In fact, he didn't even want me to post it, but I talked him into it. We both agree that the composition isn't good, but I really like the colors.

I became a real nerd and gave him shit for the DK coin. I told him it's the actual coin inside the garbage pail lid, and it's backwards until you pop it out. He told me he didn't care, it's the artist's take on it. It's kinda cool what he did. The coin is painted on the lid, but it's battered because he's always blocking barrels that are being thrown at him lol. Also, the skull and cross bones on his helmet is also worn.

Meta Knight:

His newest one. In fact, I'm not sure if it's 100% finished.

Bomb Man:

In my opinion, this is by far his best one. It's definitely my favorite video game painting he's done, and it might be my favorite of all the paintings he's ever done. And yes, a crop of it has been my avatar here since January.

Sorry if this seems spammy (that's not my intent) but I'd like to mention that he's willing to sell prints of his paintings. Hence why he put the watermarks on them. You can PM me if interested. edit: I forgot to mention that he's usually willing to do commissioned work too.

I've been trying to get him to do one for DCK2 so I can have the entire trilogy lol, as well as some others I've been badgering him to do for me. If the feedback here is positive, I'm hoping to use that to encourage him to do more. Also, I figured I'd just show off his video game paintings, but if you guys want I could probably post some of is other (non-video game) paintings.

He's not really out there selling prints. He has sold a few prints of Bomb Man though, from friends that asked for one. I wish he'd put more time into promoting his paintings tho, because I think they're awesome.

Thats where you come in.

Get him to setup an etsy shop, or you do it for him, and start selling prints. The bob-omb one is pretty awesome.
