...so March was very light for adding to the collection. However, I think these two very nice additions. It looks there were some very solid acquisitions in other posts though.

...very nice stuff here, I really enjoyed Toy Commander and think it's a game a lot of people passed by back when it was released. I still haven't haven't finished Strider on the Genesis

...great pick ups Note, you finally got that Phantasy Star II very cool. I'm really feeling that Ristar though, that's game I've been trying to find in a condition like that. One of these days I'm going to have to pull the trigger on another grail, the last one I grabbed was Gaiares. Zombie Revenge is a fun time as well, sort of like the Die Hard Arcade and Dynamite Cop games.

It's been a tremendous game acquisition week for me! It started last weekend with happening upon some Gameboy Color games I wanted, then getting a couple digital games for Vita and 3DS before those stores shut down, and then I got some items I had ordered from Limited Run last year. But the big thing happened when I got some games from a friend of a friend:
There's a guy who has for a long time enjoyed going to yard sales and finding cheap retro games to buy, but he's mostly been building up a collection of doubles rather than selling them because he doesn't like using ebay, so my friend offered to help sell them for him on ebay. My friend asked me to give him a wishlist of any kind of games and he'd sell them to me at a good price. It took several months but he finally managed to get games for me. I got a better deal than I would have by going on ebay, but I'm still kind of stressed about how much I agreed to give him for them because I'm not used to making such large purchases. But ultimately, I can swing it and it knocks a number of key titles off my wishlist including all my most desired N64 games, so it's good.

I think I need to take a long break from buying games, but I still want to get 3DS games before that store stops letting people buy things.

Great choices here! I've heard good things about both Soukyugurentai and Rolling Gunner. I'm interested in picking up both. The Switch seems like it has a growing selection of shmups on the system, which is great.

Yeah! I can finally cross PSII off my list. Took me quite a while to find it in decent shape. Couldn't find a copy with the Hint Book, but I'm hoping I can track one down later. Ristar was quite tough to track down as well. I came across a few copies, but with it being a cardboard box release, many of them were in rough shape. Somehow I never played Zombie Revenge when it was released, but I had a lotta fun with Dynamite Cop back in the day. Can't wait to play it co-op with a friend.

Awesome list of pick-ups this month, Nemoide. I've been looking for a few of those N64 games myself, with Paper Mario at the top of the list. My sister used to own it, but it went missing over the years. It's great to have a connection to someone that's able to track down gaming stuff at flea markets and yard sales, and offer them to others for a bit of a better deal. Getting out to browse those kind of markets and sales is something I'd like to do more of myself. Also, I see you also grabbed Zombie Revenge recently!

2022 Pick-ups:

Image

1. Yoshi's Story (N64)
2. Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (N64)
3. General Chaos (GEN)
4. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2)
5. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (DC)
6. Blue Stinger (DC)
7. Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
8. Phantasy Star II (GEN)
9. Ristar (GEN)
10. Omega Boost (PS1)
11. Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
12. Zombie Revenge (DC)

Revelations: Persona (PS1)
Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (PS1)
Raiden Trad (GEN)
Soul Blazer (SNES)
Wave Race 64 (N64)

Just want to share my April pick-ups! Scooped a nice mix of games this month IMO, one or two that are oddities that I wanted to finally try, and a few that I have childhood memories with from either renting, or playing at my friend's place.

Revelations: Persona (PS1) - I have to say thanks to Maru on the smooth transaction for this game. Persona is a title that my childhood buddy had, and we spent a few weekends binging through it. At the time, I thought the game had a really cool vibe, as I hadn't seen many RPGs that took place in a modern setting. I'm looking forward to finally revisiting this one and diving into it all over again.

Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (PS1) - This game is an oddity for me, as I just learned of it a few years ago. This is a light gun shooter with a cover system, very similar to Time Crisis. The game is also compatible with the Namco Guncon, which is a big plus IMO, because that light gun has great accuracy. The graphics aren't the best for the PS1, but the gameplay's quite fun.

Raiden Trad (GEN) - I'm a big fan of the Raiden series, and am attempting to track down most of the home ports. I had not played this version of the game back in the day, but I've been on the lookout for it for quite some time. As I've mentioned multiple times, I'm not too good at shoot 'em ups, but I made it to Level 4 on my first attempt. I'm hoping I can continue to learn the patterns in the various stages and beat it!

Soul Blazer (SNES) - Soul Blazer's also a title I had not heard of back when it was released. But after finding out about it a few years ago, I really wanted to try it. Actraiser is one of my favorite games on the SNES, and that game basically made me want to check out all of Enix's other releases on the system. I'm also a huge fan of action RPGs, so I feel like Soul Blazer's right in my wheel house. Can't wait to play through it later this year.

Wave Race 64 (N64) - Wave Race was the first game I rented on the N64 shortly after I got the system with Super Mario 64. Good times checking it out with my neighbor, and getting a feel for what the N64 was capable of. I've wanted a copy for some time but just always overlooked it. Will be fun to check this one out again as well!

Awesome pick ups, Note. That copy of SMT Person Revelations is HAWT!

My only recent pick up is…Mary-Kate and Ashley: Get a Clue! for the GBC! This purchase proves I’ll buy basically any game if (1) it’s cheap and (2) another RB member recommends it.

Mission accomplished: I'm no longer the only psychopathic GB collector who has that game! 8)

I went more than a little game crazy lately (after ALREADY being game-crazy) between a proxy order and the 3DS eshop having closed... I've got a number of new additions that make my backlog ever more daunting. I'm too tired to post them all right now, but I'll get to it before long. But I'm increasingly comfortable just having way too many games!
