Awesome pick-ups, Bone!

What are the import games? I recognize Macross but not the others.

The FC games are Jesus: Kyōfu no Bio-Monster and Haja no Fuuin, while the SFC game is Daikaijuu Monogatari. Warning: they're all text-heavy games.

Sorry I didn't answer this many pages back. Thanks for pickin' up the slack, o.pwuaioc!

I do want to clarify that Jesus and Daikaijuu Monogatari have fan translations. Haja no Fuuin is the Famicom variant of the RPG that was called Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord on the Master System.

T&J 2 is a splendid collect-a-thon that brings the smiles. It's casual gaming at its finest. Recycled music? Yes. Good recycled music? Another yes. Is it following up the Mona Lisa with a stick figure? No. It isn't the same game design, but the game has a similar design, and if that doesn't make sense it shouldn't but it will if you play T&J 2. Worth every penny.

Kid Dracula is something else. First boss is a ghost clansman that sports a swastika on his forehead. Besides that, it's very DuckTales feeling with chunky sprites, and a difficulty that is half Castlevania half Mega Man 2.

I added Streets Of Rage 4 for the Nintendo Switch this evening!

If there was one game that was on the Switch that I really wanted to play, it would be Streets of Rage 4. If there was one game that came out in the last 15 years or so that I really wanted to play, it would be Streets of Rage 4.

Once I heard about the game, I was instantly hooked. I was hoping and praying that it would be good. So, finally, almost 18 months ago, my friend got a copy and we finally sat down and played it. And it was everything that I ever hoped for in a Streets of Rage game and more. It was perfect.

So, when my friend gifted me a Nintendo Switch for my Birthday, I instantly knew the first game I would buy for it. I finally couldn't wait any longer and I finally will have a copy of my own.

No worries, Bone! I didn't realize there was a Famicom version of Miracle Warriors. Good to know. I thought it was a SMS exclusive. I need to get one of those consoles, or the Power Base Mini adapter to start getting into some Master System games.

Worth every penny.

Sounds awesome! If I come across it, I might have to grab it.

Such a great game! I was also really excited to play SOR4 when it was released, and I think it lives up to the hype. Glad to hear you got a Switch for your birthday and picked this one up. I'm aware there's new DLC which contains additional characters, and I think new levels. Looking forward to checking out the new content.

+1 for Power Base Mini. You can even get the FM one to get that FM goodness.

Yeah, TJ&E 2 is a solid game and one of the standout platformers on the Genesis IMO. It's kind of a hot take but I like it more than the first game. It's on the easy side and it lacks the procedural generated levels that gave the first one its repeatability, but it's just a really good time with the wacky sensibilities of the first game. It's faster paced, has more detailed graphics, and I just have more fun playing it!

But the best half of each. "A spoof of Castlevania but he shoots like Mega Man" was word-for-word how I described it to a friend. It has a nice difficulty spike in the later stages, but it stays fun. I just picked this up from Ziggy last month (or so? tempus fugit).

Kid Dracula is a very solid Famicom game, but shockingly, the Gameboy version is even better. Be sure to give that a shot too if you enjoyed the Famicom game.
