Here are my pick-ups from June! I finally picked up a copy of Silent Hill on the PS1 -- I have a friend whose also into retro gaming, and would always mention that Silent Hill 2 is his favorite game, which inspired me to give the series a shot after all this time being aware of it but never playing it. Looking forward to finally playing this one later in the year.
After hearing all the positive reviews for Xeno Crisis and enjoying the ROM I tried, I picked this one up. Pretty amazing to see this game running on a Genesis. I also had a chance to play the game couch co-op this past weekend with a friend, which was a ton of fun. The game's really tough, but I always want to give it another go after a game over.
When I was young, my family had DKC and DKC3 but oddly we never had DKC 2! I'm not as familiar with this game, but I've heard good things about it over the years. I kept running into this game in poor condition, usually with a label that was torn to shreds. So I was happy to finally come across a cart in good condition.
Shadowrun on the SNES is more of a curiosity for me. When I was young, I had played the game on the Genesis and didn't even know a SNES version which was a totally different game was released until years later. The style of this game looks pretty awesome though and is really different than the standard RPG on the system. Should be a fun one to dive into. I believe Ack mentioned he's a fan of this game, good to hear it has his seal of approval.
Maximum Carnage is another game I had a tough time finding in good condition at a decent price. Every time I'd run into it, the label was all ripped up or the price was higher than I was willing to shell out. This was a game I rented back in the day but never had in my stash. Wish this was a co-op title, but I love beat 'em ups and look forward to getting frustrated while trying to finish it. Lol.
I was actually trying to find CIB Genesis games the past month, but had more luck finding games I wanted for SNES. That's how it goes sometimes!
