Just spotted these guys on Facebook. Didn't realize there were any game stores left around this area at least outside of the flea markets might swing by next time I'm up that way.

Sure, one could use Google for this, but you would have to sift through the endless pages of Gamestops, and a lot of what you find aren't even game stores! I think this would be a very useful directory of game stores. I will keep the thread updated on this first post whenever anybody posts new stores/locations.

Lost Ark has moved. I haven't been to the new location, but it's on the same street, so probably not that far. Still, just in case anyone tries to look for it, the new address is:
1701-A Spring Garden St.
Greensboro, North Carolina 27403

(though anyone looking for it would probably know to check their website anyway.)

It's located right across the highway from the USA Fleamarket. Fantastic large store, more than this one picture shows. A great selection for every console, and even imports and DVDs. Prices are reasonable too.

Stopped by there this weekend, as it's right around the corner from my girlfriend's house. Fun little shop. Packed to the rafters with stuff, and he said it's not even half of what he has. Lots of old football action figures, ***LOTS*** of old Star Wars stuff. And lots of rarities too.

If you're going to shop purely on price and you're looking for screaming deals, probably not your best place. Guy knows what his stuff's worth. Prices are more or less ebay equivalent, a little more or a little less depending on the game. At first I thought they were REALLY pricey, but then I remembered the exchange rate has swung back in favor of the USD by a fair bit and so I doubled back and realized they were fairly market rate.

But the guy who owns it is just... fun. Talked with him for probably a half hour about games, where he scored some of his finds, the state of collecting, how he got into owning a game store, etc. That's the stuff I miss from having good game stores around me, and I'll probably go back again.

But I mean... he had a whole row of PS1 RPGs. Suikoden, all the FFs, Xenogears, etc etc. He had boxed AND loose Chrono Trigger, FF2, FF3, etc. Wild Guns sitting right next to Hagane. He had the first Action 52 I've ever seen in person, and when I asked how much it was he gave me 2 prices -- one for the loose copy and one for the copy with the manual, so clearly he's got 2. He had, sitting on top of his Genesis section, the Blockbuster World Video Game Championship 2 game -- and had the story to go with it about finding it at a flea market back in the day before retro collecting went through the roof. Possibly most impressive was that he said he has never bought a video game off eBay, all found in the wild.

All in all, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back from time to time when I have some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket.

(And yes, I did buy something -- a wireless Genesis controller with base)
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Just stumbled onto this place via Craigslist. Definitely seems like a solid store, and I'll be taking a trip there soon to scope it out for myself. And now Vermont finally gets to be added to the list!

So I ended up driving down with a friend yesterday to see what Harry & Lloyd's had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised at the service and the selection. The guy working there was super friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. We chatted for a little while, and then I decided to take a look around.

They had a large rack of previously owned consoles, all cleaned, working, and sealed in plastic wrap, as well as several shelves of games ranging from Atari 2600 all the way to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. Everything seemed very reasonably priced, some of it lower than what the owner might've gotten if he'd sold them on eBay or Craigslist. I ended up scoring a few games, which I posted here. Overall, it was definitely a pleasant experience and a great store, one that I'll probably be returning to in the near future.

GameTraders South
6613 US Highway 19
New Port Richey, FL 34652
(727) 494-7639
https://www.facebook.com/GameTraders

GameTraders now has a 2nd location, and I marked the first one as the North location because it's on northbound 19 (and north of this store), and this one is on southbound 19.

Selection is just as good as the other store, but prices are a little more hit and miss, especially on loose games. Not all prices are labeled, so be careful.
