Sorry for the double post, but forgot about Gaming Generations and figured i'd add a couple more of my favorites in Wisconsin.

These are the two Gaming Generations i've been to. They're still open and legitimate. Other locations are in the spoiler.

Gaming Generations is a "chain" in Wisconsin/Minnesota, but I believe each store is locally owned, sets their own prices and manages their own used inventory. The prices are different from store to store, so don't write them all off if you've been to a bad one.

I really love the Stevens Point location. They get a lot of weird import stuff (lots of PAL DS for some reason). It's also nice when the owner says "Shoot, this one doesn't have the manual.... Do you still want it? I can knock a few bucks off". Most places I shop don't even know that they're supposed to have manuals. They had a sealed Bandai Pippin game in there once, which blew my mind and kept me coming back.

The Wausau location is okay. They seem to focus a lot more on selling custom controller/console skins than games though.

This is the closest store to me with any kind of inventory. The prices range from "Holy shit! $125 for a sealed copy of Steel Battalion w/ Controller!?!" to "Holy shit! This PSP game is marked up $70!" They get some neat stuff now and again, but its pretty few and far between. They handle NES repro carts on occasion, and don't mark them as such. It's only for games without a US-release, but it still bothers me. If you want a fairly legit looking boxed copy of Mother, though. This is the place to get it that isn't the internet.

Toy-Riffic
2919 Mall Dr # B
Eau Claire, WI 54701

I love Toy-Riffic. Unfortunately I rarely get to Eau Claire. Tons of games. Tons of weird/rare stuff. Incredibly nice and cool staff. No bathroom. Last time I was there I sat in the store talking games with the clerk for about an hour and a half, finally I felt like I was going to piss myself, so I had to leave. Prices can sometimes be a little high, but plenty of good deals to be found too.

I'm at Myrtle Beach this week for a conference so I Googled for retro game stores in the area and I came across this one:

Player's Choice
10177 North Kings Highway
Myrtle Beach, SC 29572
(843) 272-0268
https://www.facebook.com/PlayersChoiceMB/
http://www.mymallmyrtlebeach.com/store/players-choice/

They had a pretty good selection for a number of different consoles. They had lots of NES, SNES N64, Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, PS3, and Wii. They had a decent amount of PS1, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, and DS games. Their 3DS and WiiU pickings were slim but that is understandable at the moment. They also had a healthy amount of Dreamcast games considering the popularity of the system. They had good number of consoles for sale as as well.

Their prices were very reasonable. I spot checked a few games for price and I'd wager that they know about http://videogames.pricecharting.com because most of their prices were very similar. Still there were good deals to be found. I snagged a complete copy of Shenmue for $10 which is about half of what is worth at the moment. Also purchased a black label copy of Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles for PSP for $8 which is spot on with pricecharting.com.

They had a ton of comics, movies, and a few books if you are into that. The staff was friendly enough and didn't badger me like some stores do. All in all it was a good experience. I give them a +1.

Found a place completely by accident (I was lost)

First thing you'll notice is that it looks more like a house on Hoarders than a store. Really cluttered, dirty and disorganized. That being said, they do have a lot of cool and rare retro gaming stuff there (only big box Gyromite I've seen IRL). Of course they price everything based on what they claim is "the lowest price" on eBay so you probably won't score an amazing deal. Still recommended if you live nearby.

It is on the way to my in-laws so expect a review from me sometime soon.

I stopped by this store today. The selection was good but the prices were high. I was surprised to see a they had a fair amount of Sega CD games. They also had a few Sega Saturn games in stock. The price on games was pretty high. Most games were at least $5 over full market value and popular titles (Mario, Zelda, RPGs, etc) were sometimes $20-$30 over full market value. I get that folks have to make a living but I won't be shopping there for games any time soon. I did however purchase a Xbox component cable made by Yobo for $10 so there were some accessories that were fairly priced.

Browsing was pretty easy but there were some titles that were stuck behind others. There was a sign on the door that said they were moving locations on the 16th so maybe they will have some more room.

If we gave out neutral ratings, that is what I'd give this place. I'll take another look when they change locations. Perhaps my opinion will change then.

Updated! I also went scouting for retro games during my trip to Toronto last week, so I decided to stop by A&C Games to check them out. Their prices nearly gave me a heart attack, but their stock was simply jaw-dropping. PAL Master System games, CiB Virtual Boy games, and stacks upon stacks of magazines! They even had a full game room set up in the basement next door! While I certainly wouldn't recommend it if you're on a budget (They seem to get prices from median Ebay BINs), it's worth the trip just to see the collection they have amassed. Oh, and they have a signed picture from James Rolfe. Sweet. :)

I recently traveled to Fredricksburg, Va where I visited "Horseshoes & Hand Grenades". They have an impressive stock of retro video games, a few arcade games, a nice selection of vinyl records, cool old electronics, and vintage fashion. This place has a cool atmosphere. They support local artists. The floor is all old comic book pages. You have to see this place to believe it.
