Games Acquired 2023
Re: Games Acquired 2023
Machine Head did BEAUTIFUL work with the Wolfenstein IP.
I've been trying to get Wolfenstein: The New Order to work on my Loki Zero but somehow the controls got wonky (pushing up on the left stick moves BJ forward AND the camera up), I don't need the id Tech 6 games since I already have them on the Switch.
Really wish Microsoft didn't snatch up Bethesda because now I (more than likely) won't be able to play Wolfenstein 3 when it comes out. Now way in HELL it'll run on the Switch. Maybe the Switch 2?

The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening - Switch
Octopath Traveler - Switch
Super Mario RPG - Switch
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes - Switch
Tinykin - Switch (pre-ordered from Super Rare games)
Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster - Switch (Japanese version with both games on cart and English support) - I'll be replaying this classic on my modded Switch with a nice undub since there's no way to play in Japanese with English text no matter what console version of the game you have. I think the Japanese version looks nicer than the also English friendly Asian release from Bandai:

Some might prefer the Asian version having the title on the spine in English though

Re: Games Acquired 2023
Recently ordered Super Bomberman R 2 for Switch from Amazon. Also a TON of deeply discounted games on Steam.

I added Sonic Advance for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance this Morning!
It was time to purchase a new Game Boy Advance game and I was looking through my Wishlist. It was filled with exciting games to purchase, but I wanted something a little bit different. I didn't want to fill up on long RPG's already, so I wanted something short and simple. That is when I saw Sonic Advance sitting there and I knew that would be the one. I had a fondness for the original Sonic games on the Genesis, but I never cared for any of the 3D entries. I will gladly play any of the 2D entries and I had heard this was a good one. Also, it is quite short and not that expensive, so I decided this would be a good entry to tide me over until my next long GBA purchase.

Re: Games Acquired 2023
Everything I collect is North American unless stated otherwise:
Final Fantasy VII / VIII Remastered Twin Pack (European version) - Switch
This version seems to have the updates on the cart, unlike the North American version
Octopath Traveler II - Switch
I also got a copy of Paper Mario: The Origami King from Amazon, but I'm returning it. I ordered the North American version and they sent me the European version. There's no real difference between the two but I always collect North American unless there is a good reason to get another regional version of a game (like the Euro version of the FF VII/VIII Twin Pack mentioned above). I just like uniformity in my collection.
I'm trying to get all of the Final Fantasy games on the Switch, since I loved playing all of them up to FF XV, where I feel is where the franchise fell off a cliff. Even the XIII trilogy of games was better than FF XV. So I have an order for Final Fantasy XII from ebay that I'm waiting to receive in the mail. I want to get the Pixel Remaster collection, but it's a bit pricey everywhere I have looked so I might have to wait on that one. I may pick up Final Fantasy 9 next instead. It's sort of funny to have FF 7-12 on cartridges. Who would have dreamed of that years ago? It takes me back to when all of the FF games would come out on the SNES before migrating over to a Sony platform.
I was pretty impressed at the fact that developers got Hogwart's Legacy to run decently on the Switch, less impressed when I found out only part of the game is on the cartridge. Guess I won't be buying that one, might as well just get the digital version on the PS 5 if I feel a really strong need to play it. I've never been into Harry Potter though so I can probably skip it.
Anyone play the physical version of River City Girls 2 on the Switch? I know the cart is missing a few updates/patches, but does it still play well? I heard a number of complaints when the game came out on the Switch regarding performance issues. I don't really care if it's like locked at 30fps, I'm not one who obsesses over 60fps gameplay. I don't mind if that's the game's only issue.
