Podcast #77 - The Final Show

Post by dsheinem »

In the final episode of the Racketboy Podcast, Dave and John talk about their year in gaming, their thoughts on the show's five-year run, and what they plan to work on in the future. Enjoy the final show, and thanks to everyone for all the support through the years!

We'd love to hear your reflections on the show's run. We talk a bit about it in the show, of course, but I think we both agreed that while we really enjoyed the "regular shows" that we did the highlight of the podcast was the quality of interviews and guests that we had over the years. As part of this post, I thought I'd compile that list:

See I stopped editing it for like two episodes and it completely dies. I was essential!

I was flattered to be a part of two of the 77 episodes (and I only paid for one!). One of my favorite listens. Glad Nick has kept the archive up on the site.

Looking forward to this - will share additional thoughts after listening.

Been a fan since I tuned in about a year ago & have listened to most of the backlog. Good stuff. RPG episode or Road Rash interview probably my favorites.

Only 45 minutes in but a big  to John's "I've been on real raids..." comment and Dave just cracking up. Texas is crazy, yo.

(of course it is implied what he really meant, but still a good chuckle).

A good final show, I'm interested in reading your academic work actually Dave. I've always enjoyed your style.

Congrats to both of you. Keep us posted on future endeavors (I'll be getting the book).

I don't think I ever commented much on the episodes, but I've listened to the whole series and I really enjoyed it! The final episode was another great one!

Sorry to hear the podcast is ending. I've listened to at least 20 of them in full over the years and always enjoyed them. I hope the site always keeps the archive available. There is plenty of good content for new site visitors to enjoy and for others to go back to over the next many years.

Also another thought... Dsh I believe you put together the special podcast dvd audio set for the auction this year... if the sites store ever comes back online maybe you could collaborate with Nick to make that type of product available in the store. I bet even a limited run of say 20-30 copies for $25-$30 bucks a pop would be an easy sale to the members on the forum and to those who participated on the show. May not be a ton of money but it could probably pay for the a few months of hosting or just be a nice little bit of extra pocket money to someone.
