^ that's interesting, thanks for sharing. So, John, are you using water-cooling, maybe that would reduce the Db from your fans? I'm not sure how "into" PC gaming you are, so may not be worth your money. Where is your PC now? On your desk or below? Would the addition of a screen/filter and a better mic reduce the ambient noise? Or maybe one with built-in noise-canceling? I know someone that deals with audio a lot and maybe he would have some ideas. Or we could ask Ziggy or someone that seems to have more experience on here (there's bound to be someone.)

I am into pc gaming but my rig isn't water cooled. I find it unnecessary though as I am able to overclock some and still run at low temps. I have my PC sitting on top of one section of my desk. I do turn down the fans to low speed while recording.

The other issue may be the room. My gameroom is large and great for gaming and movies, but probably not a great recording studio. Again, the stuff the mic pics up is louder on the recording than it is if you are actually sitting in the room. It seems as if it amplifies background noise for some reason. I do not know much about filters and such.

I wouldnt be opposed to doing it per se. But doesn't seem like the interest is there to make the effort worth it.

It also wouldnt work for our interviews as they are almost always done audio only. So, seems unlikely as a regular addition. I wouldn't say a one off for fun or maybe a video interview at a convention would never happen, but it isn't in our plans.

For me personally it's kind of hard to stare at a screen listening to people talk. It's much more tactile and engaging watching it instead. I thought you and Dave lived close by so you could just sit in front of a camera and do your thing. I guess AppleQueso could do makeup. :P

Surf the web, play a game, listen in the car etc...

I live in Texas and Dave in Pennsylvania, we do not live close. Apple is in Texas, but still an 8 hr drive away lol.
