VMU Pro for Dreamcast

Post by Note »

Just wanted to share that 8bitmods, the company behind the MemCardPro for PS1, PS2, and GameCube is working on a new VMU for the Dreamcast. Their previous offerings store game save data on a SD card, and have Wi-Fi access, so that you can update the firmware of the device or back-up saves to your computer. It also looks like this VMU will have a menu to adjust saves using the controls on the VMU itself.

I was hoping the company would create something for the Dreamcast, so I'm glad this is in the works. Here's a video of an early version of the device in action: https://x.com/8bitmods/status/1851646253509013709

Just a quick update on this. The VMU Pro for Dreamcast is now available for pre-order. They have a bunch of different colors available, including a transparent black shell that Hobbes mentioned earlier. However, I just went for the "classic white" to match my original Dreamcast and controllers.

Looking forward to this being finally released!

Pre-orders are available here for anyone interested: https://8bitmods.com/vmupro-handheld-vi ... sic-white/
