Mega Final Fight

Post by Note »

For anyone's that fan of the homebrew scene on the Genesis, it looks like a small team in Brazil has made a new version of Final Fight, that includes some bonus features and characters (including the ability to play as Captain Commando), and will be released on a Sega Genesis cart, currently titled Mega Final Fight. From the screenshots and gameplay footage I've seen so far, the colors and sprites look very well done, especially for a Genesis release. The gameplay also looks smooth.

An in-depth look at the demo circulating can be seen here on the RetroGamerBoy YouTube channel : https://youtu.be/EiQw7r2r6c0.

Joe from Game Sack did a short feature on the game in his Hacks and Homebrews 4 episode, which can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/j00knZF_NlY?t=1457. The footage for this game starts at the 24:17 mark.

The developer working on and promoting the project is on Twitter, with the handle MXRetroDev. https://twitter.com/MXRetroDev. You can check out his account for more screenshots and project updates.

I'm definitely interested in trying this out when it's released! Anyone else looking forward to it?

...yeah, this is looking really interesting especially since it is running on straight Genesis hardware.

I totally agree, it's cool to see it running on straight Genesis hardware. The Genesis homebrew/indie scene has been really impressive the past few years, IMO.

Looking forward to this eventually being released!
