So this is my new blog/project. Not the most original concept, but I will be trying to review/recommend a game every single day of the year. One game for each day.

Let me know if I touch on any games you like or if you have any feedback or if you just want to chat about the games I cover.

I’m not entirely sure people ever read these – or even care about the person behind the blog – but here I am, writing this regardless.

So, you may be wondering “what is 366 video games to play? What is the format? What is the point of the blog?” and essentially, it goes like this: Starting as of 1st January, 2016, I will be posting a short review of one game every single day of the year, up until 31st December 2016. Part of it is for fun and part of it is for myself, in order to relive some of my youth and revisit my favourite games, growing up. But another part of it, is in the hope that others may read this and I may be able to recommend some great games that people unfortunately have yet to experience. But who knows?

I have been a fan of video games for as long as I remember. Around 1991 or 1992, my parents and I were over my Auntie and Uncle’s house. I must have been about 4 years old and my cousin was playing on a new video game, called Sonic the Hedgehog on this weird contraption that sat beneath the television screen. I was enthralled and captivated by what was unfolding, on the screen in front of me. The second I played the game for myself, I knew I wanted a Sega Mega Drive and I wanted one now.

Unfortunately though, I had to wait a year or two for my parents to buy me and my brother a Sega Mega Drive. In the meantime, I had to get my video games fix from early 90s PC and MS Dos games, which actually, wasn’t too much of a bad thing. There was some incredible PC games coming out in the 90s and that helped get me into video games.

So over the years, I’ve ended up owning a lot of different consoles, most have been kept (some have been sold), and now I find myself owning nearly 600 games (at the time of writing) and I still game today. Nowadays, I mostly find myself playing on the Wii U and PS4, as and when new games I’m interested in come out, but I still have a huge love for the Sega Dreamcast, which perhaps my favourite console of all time. In addition to those, I still own a Sega Mega Drive, Saturn, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1, PS2, PS3, hell even an OUYA, for God knows what reason. Finally, I get my handheld gaming fixes from my PS Vita and 3DS.

Other consoles I’ve once owned and have since let go off include the Game Gear, GameBoy Color, Neo Geo Pocket Color and the Original XBox.

So here we are. Now at the age of 27 years old (unless you’re reading this after my 28th Birthday), I feel now is the time to write about my experiences with the video games that shaped my tastes over the years.

hey Reprise, just wanted to let you know I have been following this - just haven't been commenting. I enjoyed the Nights review a lot. That's one of those games that I always mean to 'get into,' but all I've ever done is like 10 min spurts to check it out. I skipped the Shenmue II review because I've never gotten very far in the first game and #nospoilers.

I'm digging the Sega stuff, most of which I've missed out on over the years.

The problem with the 32/64 bit era was 3D polygons were still a relatively new concept and developers felt forced into creating 3D games in order for them to sell.

...and this would be why. So many games of that era have aged terribly. But Nights always stood out, I have to get my hands on a copy
