Spoony's game room! U:10/17/16

Post by SpoonyBard »

I recently completed my Licensed US Dreamcast library.

When I first started collecting this stuff I didn't document where/when I picked stuff up.

But from the time I have records, it shows that 124 of these games came from the Racketboy forums. That's over half of the entire library.

I live in a pretty small town and we haven't had a game store in 2 years (aside from Gamestop) and I only had to go to ebay/amazon for 27 games out of this library. That's amazing.

Thanks to everyone here who helped me put this together! Though selling me games, giving me the heads up on deals, or even just chatting about the DC with me! It's been a lot of fun and I look forward to digging into the homebrew library!

Pretty minor living room setup (we just moved) with a small amount of my roommate (Yukimuras) in the corner. I'll let him post his own games. Or anything. (Take the hint man, just post here)

Ok, ok - now to quote flojocabron, "It looks nice and all, but we need some room-wide pics so we can see it in all its glory."

Love the DC stuff - everything looks in great shape, nothing ruins aesthetics like etched case lids, stickers, or case cracks.

That room is positively trashed at the moment. I picked up a lot of stuff from a closed down game shop and haven't been home enough to really get through it (this excuse is starting to wear out though, it's been a few months admittedly). If I took room-wide pictures you wouldn't be able to see much other than manuals. Manuals everywhere.

My sister had an NES when I was a kid and we played it to death. She took it when she moved out and eventually I found out that she threw it away. I picked up another unit that day at a rummage sale and have been on a mission to complete the library ever since. I think i'm up to 217 unique titles, by far the largest part of my collection.

The Dreamcast is a new thing for me. I never had one when they were out, and the first time I played one was after they basically exited the market. For some reason the Sega stuff wasn't incredibly popular here (at least within the people I knew), so it's been an adventure going through some of these games that no one around me has really seen or heard of.

That picture is actually sideways. The shelf was made out of an old Wal*Mart CD rack and it's probably about 4' wide (storage on the shelves is maybe 2.5'-3'). You can't see much of it in the picture, but the sides and top look like a jukebox and have fluorescent lights in them. It was cool having it all lit up when I got it, but unfortunately it will only fit NES games, so it's pretty impractical.

I'm so envious of your Dreamcast collection. Great stuff you got there.
