Help Me Convert A Save File

Post by lisalover1 »

A little while ago, I started playing Final Fantasy VII on my PSP. Some stuff happened, and to make a long story short, I lost my game save; I was fairly far into the game at the time.

So, now, I finally found a FFVII save close enough to the point I was at before I lost all my data that I can salvage most of what I lost. The only problem is, it's in PS1 format, not PSP format. I tried everything with CWCheat, and it didn't work, always giving me an open error. So, can somebody please convert this save file into the PSP format for save files? I really want to play this game again; please help. I don't want to be given links to CWcheat tutorials or tell me to try again, or anything like that; I just want a new save file. Thank you.

PS1 Save File:

Code: Select all

I'm sorry I can not help you there, but I just want to say that this topic interests me in general.

Even if it is not possible to do, if anyone knows the specifics between the way different emulators save (not talking about save states, but the associated save files created when you save "properly" inside the game) I'd be interested in knowing in general how that stuff works.

I've had cases where I wanted to change emulator, or use save files found on the web which I can only guess were created in different emus (or somehow exported directly from the real machine) and I just can't use them.

No, it's certainly possible. All you have to do is load the save file into CWCheat, then save the game at a normal save point, then upload the save file back here! Please, I really need help. I'm going on a long trip soon, and I want to play this game during it.

EDIT: I discovered that the save I got was corrupted. I was lucky enough to find another, and it worked! Excuse me while I do my happy dance.
