I even replayed Ape Escape last year to see how well it holds up. The answer is very, very well. Playing on PSP, though, is the wrong route to go. Net physics feel off, and you lose the dual-analog control scheme that helps make the game even more special. I switched pretty quickly when it was clear the PSP version was actually inferior despite the tech advantages.

I just tried Ape escape in Retroarch and the controls are an affront to god! lol

I could prob gt used to them but man.. just goes against everything I've learnt in the last 30 years of playing games.

I'm surprised not to see any mention of Sly Cooper. I thought it had been well received.

It got a HD port to the PS3, though. I think the OP was looking for “true” PS2 exclusives.

I am actually playing through the Sly games on PS3. On the third one :P

You hit the nail on the head, my man. I feel the exact same way. The whole control scheme of Ape Escape requires you to unlearn a lifetime of muscle memory. I do not dig it.
