Best exclusive PS2 platformer?
One that didn't get remastered or ported later.

Re: Best exclusive PS2 platformer?
Klonoa 2 is a solid platformer. Some others to consider:
Ape Escape 2
Ape Escape 3
Contra: Shattered Soldier
Kim Possible: What’s the Switch?
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory
Maximo vs. The Army of Zin
Portal Runner
Some of these games were made available via PSN, but the underlined titles remain”true” PS2 exclusives to this day. Also, and somewhat strangely, I’ve beaten almost all of these. (I haven’t played Portal Runner. I understand it’s awful.) They are all quite good. Kim Possible, as noted in the Racketboy PS2 Hidden Gems article, is a remarkably solid 2D platforming game, and Maximo: Ghosts to Glory is one of the very best 3D platformers on any system.

Really solid 2D platformer. Doesn’t reinvent the genre or anything, but still a really good time.

I feel like Ape Escape 2 & 3 are the right answer. I love that series, and wish they'd bring it back.

Right!? Ape Escape is SO good! How the heck did those games not get remasters on PS3 last gen? Especially Ape Escape 3, because while that game may be fun, its framerate on the PS2 is pretty dire XP

+1
I adored all of those games. I especially like the MGS crossover in Ape Escape 3 and Metal Gear Solid 3. So, so silly, and so much fun.
