Well whatever the case I never kept CC info on mine as I felt like it was leaving yourself open for abuse with the always online wifi setup it has. I've been tempted to swap the thing out with the PS4 in my room since I use them both for video as lately I've been wanting to revisit a PS3 game or two like Dragon's Crown. Not sure I'll do it, but who knows, it could be fun if I had the time.

Hi racketeers,

I'm bumping this old thread because I just watched an interesting video on the "Yellow Light of Death" issue.
A lot of us (myself included) have long believed that the yellow light of death was caused by the switch to lead-free solder. This video explains how the issue is more complex than we first suspected, and that there are multiple possible points of failure. It's worth watching.
