A quick question about A Boy and His Blob on NES. Do I need to collect these treasures? Or can I still see the ending if I get through it all without them?
There's a lot of snakes around the treasures and they're a pain in the rear to deal with. I'd rather just beat the game if all treasures do is increase an arbitrary score.

I remembered the Wii remake when I saw this thread, but couldn't really remember how either game looked so I searched up some videos. Just want to say that the NES blob looks just a little bit fucking terrifying

He's cute in the "jabba the hutt monstrosity" kind of way.

I haven't beaten the game in over a decade, but I believe that you need some of the treasure from the caves to buy vitamins to shoot with the vita blaster before you leave Earth. But you don't need a ton. I don't think you can make it far on planet Bloblonia without having ammo for the vita blaster.
There is treasure all over the cavern system.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've gotten a lot of treasure but I wasn't sure if I had to go after all of it.
