I recently picked up Shredder's Revenge.

Metroid Prime Remaster is a bit exciting. It's needed an upgrade for some of the stray lower res textures.
Honestly I was hoping TotK would be more like BotW (yeah I know complainers are calling it too similar), the "floating islands" thing isn't really inspiring me.
Lum fan.

This has probably already been discussed, but I'm not going to search through 420 pages of discussion.

We just got my son a switch. I've been trying to play some of the NES and SNES games available on Nintendo Online. I find them really annoying to play via joycon, and I make tons of mistakes that I wouldn't make with a real controller.

Are any of y'all actually able to pull off decent platforming with joycons? Do I just need to git gud?

Or are y'all mostly playing these with classic controller variations?

I find the joycons do make a lot of classic d-pad style games hard to play. I recommend getting some additional controllers, like some of the 8bitdo ones.

Nintendo makes official NES, SNES and N64 wireless controllers that work with the Switch. I own the NES and SNES ones, and they're perfect. They're only available to purchase for NSO members. Just putting it out there as an option.

A couple of games y'all definitely need to check out on the Switch: Silver Falls: Episode Prelude and Silver Falls: Ghoul Busters (especially Ghoul Busters, it's fantastic).

A couple of games y'all absolutely do not need to check out on the Switch: Hentai vs. Evil and Hentai World. They're garbage.

Surreal to see games with "hentai" in the title on a Nintendo console.

(also, "hentai" being used to refer to "hot anime girls" as opposed to "literal anime porn")

Well, in Japan hentai is more softcore and ecchi is more "literal anime porn", so actually not too far off the mark.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Super Mario RPG remake.

I was actually going to post a thread about the recent Nintendo Direct. I feel like there's several very noteworthy games that were announced. But yeah, I'm super stoked about the Mario RPG remake.

edit: Well, I was typing up a post regarding recently announced Switch games, but it got lost and I don't feel like retyping it all.

Super Mario RPG - I'm very excited for this! I love the SNES game.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder - I am also excited for this! I was a huge fan of the New series, it'll be neat to see what direction they're taking this with the new game play mechanic.

Pikmin - Looks like 1 and 2 are getting Switch ports, and a new 4th entry as well. I have yet to play a Pikmin game, but they've been on my list for a while. It'd be cool if the Switch would also get 3, but I'm assuming it has something to do with GamePad controls not translating well to a traditional controller?

Batman Arkham Trilogy - Really cool that the Switch is getting these games. I have only recently played the first game, but I was blown away by how much fun it is. Not sure if I'll pick this up, but it's neat that they're coming to the Switch either way.

Metal Gear Solid collection - Kinda cool to see this coming to the Switch. But just the PS1 version of MGS? No Twin Snakes?

Some fun and surprising announcements. I didn't expect the Batman one, and the Super Mario RPG announcement is great too. I also like getting all of the Pikmin games on the Switch.
